wlaidlaw Posted February 19, 2018 Share #10746  Posted February 19, 2018 What a pity they never put the V8 version of the SM into production and only built the one prototype. The prototype is still around and has not been scrapped like so many exciting prototypes are. It was on show at Retromobile in Paris a few years ago. Sadly it is painted bright red, which suits it not at all. Dark or cool colours like the metallic blue above, bring out the elegance of the beautiful body.  Wilson

Graham (G4FUJ) Posted February 19, 2018 Share #10748  Posted February 19, 2018  Fiat Topolino … first production year 1936  dunk Pretty little car!
dkCambridgeshire Posted February 19, 2018 Share #10749  Posted February 19, 2018 Pretty little car!   And looks surprisingly modern for a 1936 car.  I've now found another car for this round and edited my 10747 post … should be fairly straightforward to identify.  dunk  dunk
wlaidlaw Posted February 19, 2018 Share #10750  Posted February 19, 2018 Could the new car be a four seater Allard K1 from around 1953.  Wilson
dkCambridgeshire Posted February 19, 2018 Share #10751  Posted February 19, 2018 (edited) Wilson, there is a 'K' in the model's  ID and it is 1950s … but Sydney Allard would likely not have been so happy that this somewhat underpowered vehicle was attributed to him  However, despite its lack of power compared to an Allard, at the Hockenheimring over 24 hours, the vehicle  broke 22 international speed records in its class, including the 24-hour speed record.  Best wishes  dunk Edited February 19, 2018 by dkCambridgeshire

dkCambridgeshire Posted February 19, 2018 Share #10754  Posted February 19, 2018 (edited) That's a lot closer than the Allard suggestion  …but it's not a Goggomobile.  dunk Edited February 19, 2018 by dkCambridgeshire
wlaidlaw Posted February 19, 2018 Share #10755  Posted February 19, 2018 The other little car that broke records at the Hockenheim ring was the Messerschmitt KR200.

wlaidlaw Posted February 21, 2018 Share #10758  Posted February 21, 2018 Will be getting round to it but a difference of opinion with Leica CS and my new Panamera dying on the same day, is taking up a lot of my time sorting things out to my satisfaction.  Wilson
stuny Posted February 22, 2018 Share #10759  Posted February 22, 2018 An excellent time not to believe things come in threes.  I've heard many instances of Porsche's unsatisfactory response to quality issues in recent years.
