steed Posted May 29, 2012 Share #3470 Posted May 29, 2012 CORRECTION....street version of the D-TYPE. we still need the model......
Rona!d Posted May 29, 2012 Share #3471 Posted May 29, 2012 Andreas already mentioned the XK-SS. That Mc Queen had and that is known as the street version of the D-Type. I had my doubts it is one because of the position of the small light under the head beam which looks different to what I remember the XK-SS has it positioned. We need some enlightenment here
Rona!d Posted May 29, 2012 Share #3472 Posted May 29, 2012 If I turn it to the right (90°) it looks XKSSish. Clever made!

Rona!d Posted May 30, 2012 Share #3474 Posted May 30, 2012 (edited) Correct, and well done! Here is the "big picture. To you Ronald! No, not me, it´s Andreas turn, he mentioned XK-SS before. That picture fooled me because of the turned angle, so I thought it´s the C-Type. TMaybe the photo shows the left front wing of an Jaguar XK SS, photographed from above? Cheers, Andreas p.s. Some years ago I was on a roadster trip near the former east/west german border and in one curve on a very small road an XK-SS crossed my way, UK-registration. That was an interesting moment, we both were not "slow", both had green cars, both no lights on. Edited May 30, 2012 by Rona|d

steed Posted May 30, 2012 Share #3477 Posted May 30, 2012 Thanks. High praise. Andreas is, by proclamation, the winner. Ronald can claim moral victory, like Massa losing to Hamilton two seasons ago.
Andreas.Pichler Posted May 30, 2012 Share #3478 Posted May 30, 2012 John, thanks for the ticket to march on. Here we are, many, many seasons back from Massa and Hamilton, in the pre war era: Who names this engineering highlight? The special technical issue is clearly visible.
