The small badges on the front bumper may indicate that the car is made in Switzerland?

Cheeers, Andreas

An "ADAC" badge does not automatically indicate it´s a German car. It may be though. The badge on this car is the one of a Swiss autoclub.

It's not a well known brand as it was indeed made in Switzerland. Also, the only instances built were pre-production units. In other words, it has never been produced or marketed. In that sense, it was more of a concept car, albeit a fascinating one, if I may say so.

Edit: It's even less known, even in Switzerland, as that particular manufacturer never ever sold autos. The engine, however, was by a known Swiss manufacturer.

Because Ronald posted before that he is running out of time I take over the "1956: true".

Now it is easy: we are talking about the Soletta 750, created in Solothurn and presented at the Geneva Atomobil Exhibition in 1956. Engine was swiss made, coming from the Condor Motorcycles.

A very interesting one - my first thought was "an early Mini Concept Car", but the Morris Mini appears some years later. Maybe Issigonis got some inspiration by the "Soletta"?

Cheers, Andreas

We are indeed talking about the Soletta 750. If only I had read the short article in the German Wikipedia before seeing the car, I would have tried to show its two identical doors, one opening towards the rear, the other towards the front. :D

Here it is again in full frontal view.

Thanks Philipp!

Dont bother - "two identical doors" delivers more articles concerning "heaven and hell" than "horsepowers".

Keywords have been "1956 swiss prototype", then the link to "http://www.swisscarregister.ch", searching for "1956", then again google for "Soletta car" (and some others, of course...). Time consuming, but makes fun, and you always learn a little bit more.

But didn't you also think that that the Soletta reminds a little bit to the Mini?

Anyway: Other legue, concerning horsepower, heaven and hell: Could you name this car (make and model, please)?

Cheers, Andreas

John,

sorry for the misunderstanding - but I am glad to tell you that you are the winner. The Bugatti 57 is one of the unrestored car of the Schlumpf collection and has been presented among with other "time warp cars" during the Bremen Classic Motorshow in February.

So: Its your turn!

Cheers, Andreas
