FiZZ Posted April 26, 2010 Share #1 Posted April 26, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am amazed at how beautiful this turned out. 28mm f/2.8 f/11@1/250. Film was Kodak Porta 400 NC, which I HIGHLY recommend since the colours are gorgeous. This is definitely my new staple colour film. To hell with my dSLR. The pictures aren't anything fancy since I was just trying out the new combo. First time I actually use the R6 even though I had it for a while and I am blown away by the colours and all. Mind you, there is no post processing at all. These are direct scans from the lab.

FiZZ Posted April 26, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted April 26, 2010 Nice skin tones. It's the best I could find. The film is available in NC (natural colours) and VC (vibrant colours). I would highly recommend this for colour photography.

thebarnman Posted November 6, 2010 Share #5 Posted November 6, 2010 Is that light falloff around the edges or simply an optical effect? I was thinking about getting a R 28mm.
andybarton Posted November 6, 2010 Share #6 Posted November 6, 2010 The latest 28 Elmarit-R does not suffer from such serious vignetting as shown above in the second shot. These were taken with one on a full frame digital SLR http://www.andybarton.com/Photography/PHOTOGRAPHY/Pages/Colour__Landscape_%26_Travel.html#18 http://www.andybarton.com/Photography/PHOTOGRAPHY/Pages/Colour__Landscape_%26_Travel.html#20 http://www.andybarton.com/Photography/PHOTOGRAPHY/Pages/Black_and_White__Landscape_%26_Travel.html#11 There are others there too

thebarnman Posted November 7, 2010 Share #10 Posted November 7, 2010 Thanks Here's another from September http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/landscape-travel/149732-sligachan-bridge.html Love it. Just wondering though, is the grass in the very left lower corner a touch blurry because of the lens? Or is it just the way the grass looks? I'm concerned about edge to edge focus on the newest of the R 28mm.
garyp Posted November 8, 2010 Share #11 Posted November 8, 2010 I have the older version of the 28; I'm wondering if what may look like vignetting in the second shot may just be the way the light is falling on the subject. I've never noticed any vignetting that bad on mine. Fizz: nice photos anyway though, and I do like that Portra film also Gary
andybarton Posted November 8, 2010 Share #12 Posted November 8, 2010 It softens very slightly in the extreme corners, but it's not a focus issue.
