k-hawinkler Posted March 27, 2010 Share #4 Posted March 27, 2010 jaay, Hmmm. M9, iPad, LiveView, or at least wireless transfer of DNG files from M9 to iPad. Should happen eventually... The iPad Camera Connection Kit is certainly a step in the right direction IMHO. Thanks for the post, K-H.
Viv Posted March 27, 2010 Share #5 Posted March 27, 2010 iPad is a product looking for a market. Gadget freaks and Appleistas will buy it, no doubt. Not me, although I like my iPhone and Mac.
plasticman Posted March 27, 2010 Share #6 Posted March 27, 2010 iPad is a product looking for a market. People said this about phones that you could use walking around on the street - I mean, WHY would anyone wanna do that?? Not sure why all these posts about lenses, computers and everything else now get posted in the M9 forum though?
AGeoJO Posted March 27, 2010 Share #7 Posted March 27, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I will wait for the second generation of iPad with 4G connection speed, > or at least 120GB storage space and (hopefully) an SD card slot. I hope by the end of the year .
Alnitak Posted March 27, 2010 Share #8 Posted March 27, 2010 I will wait for the second generation of iPad with 4G connection speed, > or at least 120GB storage space and (hopefully) an SD card slot. I hope by the end of the year . Apple never does that. I doubt you'll ever see an SD slot, as that would kill their ability to sell higher-capacity models at higher prices. They also rarely update more frequently than once a year. Expect a 4G iPad in 2011 if the carriers actually get any real 4G deployed. I think its more likely in 2012. diogenis Posted March 28, 2010 Share #9 Posted March 28, 2010 ipad is still big when you go out. But if they make it for the ipad, my hope is they are going to support it on the iphone too, and then yes!
Jet Posted March 28, 2010 Share #10 Posted March 28, 2010 Mine is preordered just like Jaap. No doubt it will be a typical Jobs creation. Looking forward to using it. Jet
stealthman_1 Posted March 28, 2010 Share #11 Posted March 28, 2010 Pre-ordered as well w/ 3G so I have to wait a bit more. Two or three key apps and the laptop is history.
diogenis Posted March 28, 2010 Share #12 Posted March 28, 2010 Imagine the usefulness of it when you are out and about, using it as a notepad. This thing has a lot of potential. Jaap's can't be preordered as he still lives in the Netherlands no? Otherwise he has to explain us what is his connection with Jobs
LondonM Posted March 28, 2010 Share #13 Posted March 28, 2010 [quote name=Viv;1280226 Not me' date=' although I like my iPhone and Mac.[/quote] iPhone = iPadmini Macbook pro = iPadmaxi Might as well complete the ifamily. The ability to recline on a sofa and read pdfs or magazines in colour is worth the price of admission to me. Being untethered from my desk (even though I use a MB pro hooked to a Del 30" monitor) will be hugely liberating.
paulpp Posted March 28, 2010 Share #14 Posted March 28, 2010 Looks very promising, but any idea what constitutes a "standard" RAW file - M9?, D-Lux4?

Yes, it does; and, I'll be picking up my reserved 64 GB WiFi iPad on 03 April 2010, at my local Apple Store. 2. Around the end of April 2010, the device seen at the link below should also be available; and, I'll purchase one, for ocassional use with my iPad, as well: http://www.airstash.com Edited April 1, 2010 by BRJR

anupmc Posted April 4, 2010 Share #19 Posted April 4, 2010 The iPad comes with a USB to iPad Connector cable to connect and sync the iPad to iTunes on a Mac or PC. Apple's iPad accessories website pretty much explains pictorially how the Camera connection kit works - iPad Accessories
diogenis Posted April 4, 2010 Share #20 Posted April 4, 2010 There are plenty of programs that make the iphone OS an ftp server. You can then put a file in it either using wifi or using usb. The camera connection kit that is expected will either be an SD card reader adaptor or a direct usb to camera connector. iPad Camera Connection Kit - Apple Store (U.S.) You can transfer files on an iphone as we speak. the problem is, will the iphone manage to read the raw files?
