Bruno Frisch Posted December 17, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 17, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been following the M8 threads, each and every one since it came out, since I am (still) planning on purchasing an M8. I admire the roll of the early adopters and their patience, they seem to keep in mind that developing a camera like the M8 is not easy and that the fine tuning may take some time. For it is fine tuning we are looking at here. I am impressed by the manner of communication here, all from a half full point of view. I'm sure this will be rewarded, and most of all I appreciate the "leg-work" you have set for future M8 users, be it a version I or version II or whatever. Because of positively set foras like the LUF int. forum the product will get better, and hopefully by the time I will of purchased mine it will be a 100% quality product for which obviously you all are partly responsible. Guest malland Posted December 17, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 17, 2006 Bruno, you're right...if the company survives: if this is a second round of problems that is now surfacing it would seem to me that, unless Leica can announce a fix quickly, the number of potential buyers that will persevere may not be enough. —Mitch/Bangkok http://www.flickr.com/photos/10268776@N00/
Guest guy_mancuso Posted December 17, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 17, 2006 Thanks Bruno , I think many of us are working toward the goal of getting a product that works , is reliable and produces great images. Most of the folks here are in the category of let's get this working without the whining and for me as it should be. But we must also test and report and try to get answers and solutions also. Personally i have a alot of money in this already and no way am I throwing in the towel and it will get fixed and will work as expected . We need to stay on leica and let them know the issues and report idea's and solutions. I get my 1.09 camera's Monday and again will test them out for this latest issue that folks are seeing. i don't believe the Heliopan filters are the answer, there too weak and don't do the job effectively to begin with. I will try a absortion filter this week and compare the two and see if absorbtion is a better solution. i tend to think it won't be but i also think people should still send there camera's in for the hardware fix as planned.
