hoppyman Posted December 17, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 17, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Folks, just getting organised to post a little more frequently. These pics are from Melbourne Australia This gentleman was busking for change on a busy street corner. He said that he was wounded during the Korean War. I declined his offer to show the scars for the camera but was happy to contribute to his collection tin. She agreed to a photo with a cheery wave, showing that she was apparently used to the attention. M7 28 ASPH
Advertisement Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 Hi hoppyman, Take a look here Street photos Australia. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
azzo Posted December 17, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 17, 2006 I like both images Hoppy, especially the 2nd which in my opinion is even stronger. I would also try to darken this image a bit. Very well seen and captured. Best Azzo
robert_parker Posted December 17, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 17, 2006 Hoppy I like both of these a lot, particularly the second (which as Azzo says, looks a touch light on my monitor) for the composition and the lines and angles I'd have loved to see the first one in colour but then I'm not a huge devotee of B+W
stuny Posted December 17, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 17, 2006 Hoppy - Delightful moment captured in #1, and all the picture elements in #2 work very well. As Robert & Ivan say above, #2 needs some darkening (and perhaps some increase in contrast)).
martinop Posted December 17, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 17, 2006 Enjoyable set. I like the compsitions in both.
simonpg Posted December 17, 2006 Share #6 Posted December 17, 2006 Hoppy, what an amazing coincidence; I was on the same corner today and took a similar shot (in colour though) - his face is amazing. Cheers.
hoppyman Posted December 18, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted December 18, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hoppy, what an amazing coincidence; I was on the same corner today and took a similar shot (in colour though) - his face is amazing. Cheers. Someone told me that they had spotted him in Adelaide as well! We look forward to seeing your colour post. No question that the subject is colourful. cheers
hoppyman Posted December 18, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted December 18, 2006 Folks, thanks for taking a peek and your kind comments.. The film was Neopan 400 and I think my processing was not ideal. Certainly required some spotting. Here is the second shot one stop darker. I thought it a little grittier. Still relearning this bw stuff after a very long absence. Might re-scan and see what I can do. cheers
