stunsworth Posted December 16, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 16, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Taken in Perpignan one afternoon last summer. Finally rescued using the RAW converter in CS3 :-) Canon 5D, 180mm Elmar. Converted to B&W with the Alien Skin plugin mimicking Tri-X. gverdon Posted December 16, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 16, 2006 Steve, I like this one. It looks like a theater scene. Stunning light and great "moment". Gérald
azzo Posted December 17, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 17, 2006 This is a very well seen and captured image Steve. I even like the way it is rendered. Well Done. Best Azzo
robert_parker Posted December 17, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 17, 2006 Steve Nice conversion to B+W, which suits the image very well - are people using Alien Skin in preference to Fred Miranda nowadays ? Loads of interest from the main characters and nicely oof background
stuny Posted December 17, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 17, 2006 Steve - Wonderful light (especially the rim lighting), and terrific 3D effect from the sharpness of the couple against the beautiful bokeh. I think she needs to buy him a razor.
stunsworth Posted December 17, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted December 17, 2006 Thanks everyone, I agree that it's the lighting that makes a difference (as ever) here. If anything I was a bit worried that the background looked a little _too_ detatched from the couple in the foreground. Robert, I've been trying the 30 day trial of Alien Skin and much prefer it to the Fred Miranda alternative. It woks on a duplicate layer for a start and doesn't flatten any existing layers. I'm currently using a 30 day trial and have to decide soon if I want to buy it.
elansprint72 Posted December 17, 2006 Share #7 Posted December 17, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Tri-X mimicry appears to work. Great use of lighting and timing. Cheers, Pete.
stunsworth Posted December 17, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted December 17, 2006 Pete, even I realise that there's something peverse about trying to make digital look like film, but the problem is I love film :-)
