lct Posted December 16, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 16, 2006 Am I the only one, or do others find Imants' threads a tad difficult to follow? My English is not good enough to comprehend all his posts i'm afraid but Imant's humour reminds me of Phil Kneen's (aka pkn or plk) sometimes. Any news from him? masjah Posted December 16, 2006 Share #7 Posted December 16, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Am I the only one, or do others find Imants' threads a tad difficult to follow? I think the secret is not to try. Just think of him as a window into a surrealist world, where understanding is a contradiction in terms, because it is essentially a realist concept.? frc Posted December 16, 2006 Share #8 Posted December 16, 2006 See what happened to Great Britain, they used to rule the waves. It's nothing that has to do wiih the language, more a matter of saying things.

RaySwan Posted December 16, 2006 Share #10 Posted December 16, 2006 I think the secret is not to try. Just think of him as a window into a surrealist world, where understanding is a contradiction in terms, because it is essentially a realist concept.? Very well put. That's exactly how I see it but could have never put it into words so succintly. It is also reflected in his work. That's not meant to be a putdown or negative comment, just a statement of fact "as I see it".

ho_co Posted December 16, 2006 Share #16 Posted December 16, 2006 But as strange as Imants' world seems at first glance, when he responds to a remark you make he can be quite clear and on-target. He's all there, maybe so much there that you and I often have a hard time following. --HC

brunom Posted December 26, 2006 Share #20 Posted December 26, 2006 And I always thought that language and writing were there to allow others to understand and know , what was being thought about by the author. Imants - if you do have something worthwhile to say [ which you probably have ] why not come out and say it as it is - so we can all share in your vision ?
