Colour calibrating an Eizo CG243W with ColorEyes Display Pro?

Well at long last I have my new Mac Pro and Eizo CG243W. :)

Now i need to get it calibrated. I have an EyeOne Display2 and have more recently used olorEyes Display Pro. My old iMac had no RGB controls, my previous IIyama monitor had just 3, red blue and green. This baby however has loads of stuff!

I can adjust Hue and Saturation for 6 colours and I have a Gain Control with just the usual RGB. Is it that I adjust only the manual is somewhat confusing and lacking detail?

It does. And you have to plug the calibration tool into a USB port on the monitor itself, not on the computer You must remove/disable all monitor calibration (including Adobe Gamma!) in your computer before you start calibrating the Eizo.

Surely your Eizo came with its own calibration software? All you need is one of the approved photometers which should be listed in your documentation..

Yes it does but I have heard from several people and in a couple of reviews that the Eizo software isn't as good as ColorEyes Pro which I already own and like. The EyeOne Display2 is approved. :)

Actually, looks like you need a different 'end' to plug the calibrator into the monitor. Instructions say you can do either. Fortunately as a Mac user I don't have to worry about Adobe Gamma :D.

The issue was not really understanding which of the multitude of colour options I needed to adjust prior to calibration and the manual isn't clear. I've figured it out now, it is the Gain controls. All done, and works a treat. Slight red cast of the old iMac screens is fading into the dim and distant past!!

Thanks for the input.

As you already have the Eizo software, why not try it to prove to yourself whether it meets your requirements? Eizo are unlikely to package less than optimum software for calibration of their excellent monitors. If you are still uncertain, repeat using your listed solution.
