Today I received an email promoting a subscription to LFI from Hamburg in Germany from what appears to be the LFI Newsletter. A subscripton for 8+2 issues for Euro 50 is quite good value. My present subscription expires this month and I believe that is from the actual publisher of LFI. Then in the summer I received invoice invitations from a distributor in Denmark (I think).

The last UK distributor was Falsten, but they ceased dealing due to declining numbers of subscribers and tthe owner told me that she had 'sold' their subscriber list to Denmark which explains that approach. So are there two or three suppliers to the UK market? All very confusing.

Has any UK member better insight into with whom we should be dealing?

Hi David - I've subscribed to LFI via the publishers in Hamburg since 2003 - they had a good offer at the time, and I've had no problems with them. Nice mag, too, with very high production standards. There may be other suppliers in the UK, but with magazines I'm generally happier to deal direct with publishers if poss.

cheers:

Sam

David,

I too go direct to the publishers in Germany. They had this offer when I started, as they did for Keith. The service has been excellent - on one occasion an issue went adrift in the post (sadly not that rare an event with the postal service around here), I emailed them and received a replacement magazine, free of charge, within the week.

John, Sam and Keith, thank you for your advice.

I have traced my last invoice and it was from the publisher IDC CORPORATE PUBLISHING GMBH. So I think I will use their recent email to renew and take advantage of their current offer.

I also have a subscription direct from the German publishers, running now for several years.

I seem to remember that when I took out my first years subscription it also was a very good incentive offer...........subject to placing an annual direct debit for that and future years subscriptions! So eventually loyalty comes at a price, but I do not resent it as both content and presentation is of very high quality.

I too subscribe directly from the publishers. No problems and I enjoy the magazine.

Mark and David,

Thank you. I have booked a subscription with the publisher but I don't think it was for direct debit. We shall see.
