raul_ Posted February 2, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 2, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I am interested if anybody else has experienced the problem, that the scroll wheel of the D2 or LC1 (in my case) behaves unpredictable / jumpy. When you are zoomed into images in the Play-Mode it is impossible to tell if the camera will zoom in or out, no matter how much you turn the wheel, or in which direction. I would be also happy to hear what could cause such a problem - dirt, broken microswitch, ... Thanks a lot for your experiences.
Advertisement Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Hi raul_, Take a look here D2 / LC1 troublesome scroll-wheel. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

pop Posted February 2, 2010 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2010 I have a hard time predicting whether it will zoom in or out. However, I think the fault lies entirely with me for being unable to remember which does which. I can see no obvious causality between CW/CCW rotation and zooming in and out. LKeithR Posted February 3, 2010 Share #4 Posted February 3, 2010 I have a D2 and an LC-1 and have never encountered that problem. I think it's time for a repair...
Stelyn Posted February 3, 2010 Share #5 Posted February 3, 2010 clockwise is bigger and anti-clockwise is smaller on mine.
BillMaisey Posted February 3, 2010 Share #6 Posted February 3, 2010 If you turn the wheel with just your thumb it sticks. If you turn it with finger and thumb it's ok yes ..? I managed to dismantle mine and lubricate it with silicon oil. Works better than ever now. It's a tricky repair though, only attempt if you're confident else send to Leica . raul_ Posted February 4, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted February 4, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you very much for your comments so far. Did anybody get this fixed at a repair shop? If so, what did it cost?
ismon Posted February 4, 2010 Share #8 Posted February 4, 2010 One of my D2s had that problem. It drove me a little (more) nuts with aggravation. I put off repairs until the original sensor failed. Leica made the whole camera new again at NO cost. Great company.
