Advertisement Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 Hi Guest flatfour, Take a look here The Balcony. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted December 10, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 10, 2006 Anthony - Wonderful how you draw us in with the placement of the receding railing, and terrific depth. I wonder if this would be even better with a touch more contrast.
azzo Posted December 10, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 10, 2006 Anthony, Stuart is right. Some contrast is needed but play with mid tones as not to lose the highlights. IMHO, it would enhance this already well seen and captured image. Best Azzo
Canfred Posted December 10, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 10, 2006 Hi Anthony, a strong photo displaying excellent foreground. I do agree with Stuart a little more contrast. The Summar is not the best for this while delivering good detail, contrast is a problem as it is with all non coated multi element lenses. The coated Summitar is much better. I took the liberty and send your photo thru PS . A lttle better ? You are the judge.
dslang Posted December 11, 2006 Share #5 Posted December 11, 2006 i think it works far better without contrast. the original that flatfour posted makes me feel like i've just walked out onto a sunlit balcony and my eyes are struggling to adjust from being in a dark living room too long. with contrast, it just looks like a picture of a balcony. too calculated.
