Advertisement Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Hi snajczuk, Take a look here M9 Camera Strap. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wparsonsgisnet Posted January 25, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 25, 2010 I happen to like the Leica branded strap. Many here like the Upstrap. Some like the strap that attaches the hand to the camera. See this other thread for the hand strap stuff http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/leica-m9-forum/113621-speaking-straps.html
AlanJW Posted January 25, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 25, 2010 I have a Luigi leather strap, which Luigi made longer than usual for me. The OEM strap rides too high for me. And like another poster, I sometimes like to sling the strap bandolier style. I have always coveted the A&A woven silk strap but they won't make it long enough for me -- it is not adjustable. Leicaiste Posted January 26, 2010 Share #5 Posted January 26, 2010 I am always using the Leica strap since my MP "à la carte" fell on Venice's pavement because of one of the split ring on an A&A strap. It is the safest strap. Lucien
snajczuk Posted January 26, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted January 26, 2010 Looks like is’s going to be Luigi wrist and deluxe shoulder strap. Thank you!

James R Posted January 26, 2010 Share #8 Posted January 26, 2010 Looks like is’s going to be Luigi wrist and deluxe shoulder strap. Thank you! I like Luigi's leather gear. I had him make my shoulder strap to a custom size for my height. I don't find one size fits all.
epand56 Posted January 26, 2010 Share #9 Posted January 26, 2010 I always use a Leicagoodies Y-strap with detachable hook and a Leicagoodies Sling on the camera for when I carry it in my hand. It's a long time i use this combo and is very ok with me.
vish Posted January 29, 2010 Share #10 Posted January 29, 2010 I have a double R-Strap harness now - works very well, very flexible, although it can swing a little too much. The original Leica strap is a bit rubbish - the rubber catches my hair and shreds it. The R is far from perfect, but at least the strap doesn't get in the way... mby Posted January 29, 2010 Share #11 Posted January 29, 2010 I'm using the Domke Gripper Strap without swivels (7406BK1 Domke Gripper Camera Strap, 1" without Swivel, Black.) since more than a decade and couldn't be happier!
geesbert Posted January 29, 2010 Share #12 Posted January 29, 2010 I haven't seen one one in real, but the Leica X1 Leather strap looks nice.
menos I M6 Posted January 29, 2010 Share #13 Posted January 29, 2010 I love the original Leica strap (modified by terminating the plastic shoulder pad). It is the best strap by far, if you switch from strap to wrist strap and back regularly due to the superior quick connectors. I use with each camera one Leica shoulder strap and one DIY Leica wrist strap and switch according to the need. (watch my small tutorial on how to make two Leica wrist straps out of one Leica shoulder strap on my site here)
stunsworth Posted January 29, 2010 Share #14 Posted January 29, 2010 I have a Luigi neck strap and a Chinese $14 wrist strap off eBay. The Luigi strap was bought on a whim, not sure I'd buy another as the standard Leica one is fine IMHO. At the moment I'm using the wrist strap and finding it ok. gabriel Posted January 29, 2010 Share #15 Posted January 29, 2010 Artisan and Artist Braided Silk Strap, most comfortable next to skin. soft and pliable and has a little give that cushions the camera. By far the best strap that I have ever used!!

marban Posted January 29, 2010 Share #17 Posted January 29, 2010 Artisan and Artist Braided Silk Strap, most comfortable next to skin. soft and pliable and has a little give that cushions the camera. By far the best strap that I have ever used!! agreed, but i'd love to see a longer version for sling-style wear. one thing i found annoying is that you have to arrange the strap rings almost every time when picking up the cam as they wedge from the bottom up. brill64 Posted January 29, 2010 Share #18 Posted January 29, 2010 I am always using the Leica strap since my MP "à la carte" fell on Venice's pavement because of one of the split ring on an A&A strap. It is the safest strap. Lucien sorry but you also have to be careful of your leica strap! i've had one come off an m6 but i managed to catch the camera before it fell. whichever strap you use, i'd recommend being diligent and giving it a tug and a lookover from time to time to make sure everything's fine
brill64 Posted January 29, 2010 Share #19 Posted January 29, 2010 Artisan and Artist Braided Silk Strap, most comfortable next to skin. soft and pliable and has a little give that cushions the camera. By far the best strap that I have ever used!! this collapses nicely into your bag but try having an m8 with noctilux or 75 summilux hanging off the shoulder or around your neck with one of these beautifully made silk chords all day long. i ended up with neck ache and rope burn and it sits redundant in a cupboard now..
