Greetings from the Everglades - I am experimenting with my M9 and GF1. I bought the Voigtlander adapter for back-up use but must confess that the GF1 is now only a back-up for a boat-trip, use on a kayak etc. The M9 is so much fun to use and so superior that only protection from the elements will stop me from using it. But I am also learning that it is one thing to "shoot" an alligator, another to "shoot" a flying bird. I am anticipating the shot and trying "zone-focus" for these moments. Overall the GF1 can't compete. I will have it always around for "risky" moments (watersports, skiing etc.) or as a true back-up, should the M9 ever fail. I also managed to get dust on the sensor changing lenses while hiking and biking. Live and learn. I used to love the EP1 (sold) and GF1 - the M9 spoiled that for me. Why even use the Voigtlander adapter - I'd rather use the M9 altogether, or use a Lumix lens. I pray that the M9 never dies (until I own a M10?).I posted photos from my Florida trip (M9 and GF1) on the MSOSSENHEIMER.ZENFOLIO.COM site - nothing special but judge for yourselves (M9 vs GF1 - ha ha ha) Greetings

"...I know it is a web conversion etc. etc. but these shots, although well executed ( we all know that Samir know how to take a photograph), do in no way show that they were made with Leica M lenses. It does not even inspire me to get such a camera as a backup. For instance look at that foliage in the right hand lower corner of the last shot. that is not bokeh, that is mush. It seems to do the same thing as my Digilux3 does, albeit less pronounced: it chews up foliage in dense bushes and trees and renders it like an oil painting.

Panasonic firmware in the GF-1 recognizes the lens and makes in camera corrections.

All reports I have read state that the images and sharp corner to corner. I assume that the problem with corner detail on the M lens sample has more to do with the firmware not being able to recognize the lens.

I have a GF-1 on order and am ordering lens adapters for both Nikon and Leica/CV M lenses as well. I'll know more when it all arrives.
