M8 Under the weather...

Don't get me wrong. I would love a sealed digital M.

 

If they had had a seamless M8 introduction, I imagine Leica would be very happy with the M8 business wise.

 

They would sell enough for their first shot at M digital.

 

I imagine they weren't really thinking of making the major inroads into the pro market that would require a sealed camera and lenses.

 

Could such a camera work with both sealed and unsealed lenses? Probably. Sealed lenses would probably require a new and more expensive design.

 

Lets hope they gain confidence and ambition.

A couple of weeks ago someone mentioned either here or on the Photo forum that they had been out shooting in one of the blizzards that hit Colorado. His M8 got thoroughly soaked in the process, but he brought it inside, let it dry and had no problems at all.

To state the obvious: It's a non-problem until it's a problem. :)

 

We can speculate and analyze, but until a number of M8s crash and/or bite the dust due to moisture or faulty sealing, our conclusions are mere guesses.
