As I said with a tongue firmly in a cheek yea base your judgement on images after hours of post processing are spent on them.......... The camera seems to cope exceptionally well with the tints but struggles with the shades I still would base a decision on field results than processing, processing you can hide behind, the field if the gear is not up to scratch that's the ball game over. We figured Jack was a little pale, so we make him drink Martinis until his complextion looks better. Â In regards to the skin tones, all of have cold and wind burns from shooting all day. In the few shots people complained, if you look at the hands, the skin tone isn't that bad. They also look like what I shot, but sometimes real colours are not pleasing. Plus not sure how fully functional we are. LOL  But overall it is a blast to shoot and really no major issues except my one cold start static start from the extreme cold . but i just turned it of and on and all gone. this has happened with other camera in extreme cold. Guest stnami Posted December 9, 2006 Share #115 Â Posted December 9, 2006 Despite all the M8 quirks the camera continually shows it's potential as the optics are there.... it also shows that a fixed lens RF is not out of reach for a company like leica or even canon/nikon given their history as well. As for WB it has a lot to do with the photographers ability to read the light and colours and keeping a mental note what was there when the image was taken. Atleast you got yourself into the black and out of the red. Guy I still think that having to use the laptops presents potential solutions to questions about colour as M8 images are detined to various levels of multimedia from theideal to ridiculously bad. Also Kodak sensors are warm just like the DMR and that is the way i like them , some folks like cooler temps. if you want to judge color what you eye see's as bad than don't buy the camera. I have such control over the color and what i preceive what i want the images to look like. Frankly the only real off color i have seen is inside stuff. Everyone still fails to realize we have a bad profile for the camera also, it's not even close with the IR filters on . so until that is out we are still struggling. Â And I think you are being a bit too modest about the quality you can pull from your apple screen or from your and your martini mates in the field skills -- image processing included But you know as well as anyone that the questions people are asking are really not about rebalancing white balance but about something quite different that can't be solved with a WB shift. So not as sure as you that a JR version 3.0 of C1 or Leica version 3 profile will solve skin tone and other color issues that are showing up in your images -- however enjoyable to see. These guys are out camping, foolin' around and enjoying themselves. Much like any holidaymaker with a P&S. They are NOT pretending to return earth shattering results. they are having F U N ! Get It? There is enough evidence, elswhere, to criticise or praise th M8. This presentation is a few guys having a few days OFF, as well as playing with the baby. Its about enjoyment.
