Michael-IIIf Posted December 6, 2006 Share #146 Posted December 6, 2006 Current sex: Male (the last time I looked). Current age: What! publish one's birth date on the internet! Well, let's say the next time I pass 44 it will be on a front door. Using Leica since: That's a tricky one. My IIIf was bought by my dad to record my arrival in the world, I've been using it since I could stand, it became "fully" mine a half dozen years ago. The first I bought with my own hard earned cash was my M6 in 2001. I reckon the majority here are female, they're just too shy to post. There again I might be wrong

woodyspedden Posted December 6, 2006 Share #155 Posted December 6, 2006 Male 69. Leica user for 15 years. M8 since Nov 6th 2006. Primary use for M8 is landscape and portraits. Love the camera so far but anxious to get the IR issue resolved. My Heliopan 77mm Digital filter shipped from BH Photo today so will start some new profiling work using it. Registered the body with Leica today and selected two free filters. However Leica provided no info on sending the body back to Solms for update. I assume that Leica will notify the registrar when they want the body back. In the meantime I will continue to use the M8 with my new filter and Jamie's profiles. Thanks Jamie Woody Spedden

k_g_wolf ✝ Posted December 6, 2006 Author Share #157 Posted December 6, 2006 Dear friends of this site, dear Guy Mancuso, here comes your additional birthday- present: I´am not a professional statistics person, I´am only an architect who loves photography. But here we go - if you are interested - with some figures I tried to pull out of 126 (+/-) posts which I could use for my count tonight. Thank you very much for participating in this informal poll so far ! The average age I worked out (incl. post no. 152) was 48.7 years. That is quite a bit away from my prediction of 42.5 yrs., and I feel pretty sorry for this, but this is life ... And, thx to ALLEN OSER, who kept track here all the time, I did not to get lost in transition ... But sorry for you, Guy, I´am afraid you have to feel to be a bit above the avarage now. No problem actually, there are many people around here to support yot in case you do not feel o. k. with this result. The accumulated LEICA- years led me to 222 !! Which is pretty good, IMO, resulting to 17 years of LEICA- Camera- experience of the average- individual participating. The average age when our participants started with a LEICA was 31.5 years. To be quite honest I thought this would have been much earlier,.as it was with me and quite a few persons besides me as well... There was only, one female participant here ! That´s actually very sad, and in case I would have to give Steven K. Lee - the new head of state at LEICA/ AG - some advice I would try to convince him to focus more on the female LEICA user. You can´t be successful as a company, when you are not able to find access to the female part of the customers base, which should account to about 50 % of the market. What a waste ! Have a good LEICA- time best
Heidi S Posted December 6, 2006 Share #158 Posted December 6, 2006 Us gals, better stand up and be counted. Female, been age 29 and holding for 18 years! About 2 years ago, Guy Mancuso showed me how to part with my money faster than I thought possible, and I started out with a nice collection of Leica R lenses on a 1ds2. Does that count? I've been a M7 user for about a year and a half, and have added an M8. Heidi
Guest guy_mancuso Posted December 6, 2006 Share #159 Posted December 6, 2006 Karl this was fun and thanks for starting it and everyone parcipating also. Gives you a good idea of the leica user. I agee there should be many more females here as well. My suggestion to Leica is buy a M8 and get a voucher for a pair of Manola Blanik shoes( very expensive) to bring up the womens purchasing. LOL or we can add alligator ( fake of course) skin to the body to make it a little more fashionable. ladies don't hammer on me it is a joke and no not all of you are fashion bugs. But if there was a voucher for shoes my wife would be more than happy to buy 2 M8's for them. ROTFLMAO
Stephen.s1 Posted December 6, 2006 Share #160 Posted December 6, 2006 ... And an introduction: Age 73. After years of giving Leicas a wide berth, I've a new M8 on order. My Nikons are just too bloated for me to use in the city. I am looking forward to using a rangefinder and manual focus. Stephen
