"The Look"

I'm inclined to think this recent shot in New Orleans is my most recent "Leica shot"

Taken with a IIIc and 75mm CV 2.5, on 400CN.

It works for me as a "Leica image" because you can weave your own story around it.

Regards,

Bill

There are some stunning images in this interesting thread. To me, the recently-posted images by gadave, yang92 and paulosm6 really sum up the kind of photograph that one often associates with Leica.

Here is my selection:

There are two things that I consider very specifically tasty in Leica photography :

- Stable camera even with rather long exposures

- Lenses that can be safely used wide open

So that I post this family shot... :o :

While I do understand the idea behind this thread, I doubt there can be something like a "most Leica shot"...neither a "most Canon shot", etc. but I do like the look some of the lenses give, so I still post here :)

I got my used M8 just a few weeks ago, but a year ago I took my now sold D700 + 35/2.8 Elmarit-R on a pilgrimage with our 15th century reenactment group, and the photos had a very nice look to them. One I particularly like (and because the look comes mostly from the Elmarit, I think it qualifies for this thread):

Taken in Styria, Austria, just 15 minutes before a thunderstorm. we barely made it to the hut.

whole gallery, for those interested:

I think it qualifies too - Leica has a long Alpine tradition - to the extent of building a special mountain-lens in the past. This shot has a timeless feel to it - excellent :)

Hi all, they are all great shots - here's my contribution

Taken on the Manchester open city photography day

M8 28mm, converted from colour (I think it's the best way to do B&W on a digital camera)

I only wish one could shoot RAW (DNG) in monochrome, but I don't know of any camera that will do that.
