Copenhagenliving Posted December 2, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just purchased a used Leica 24mm f/2.8 ELMARIT M Aspherical Wide Angle Lens (1300€). But without the Viewfinder. My question is, is it possible to use a D-Lux 4 viewfinder on my M8 with ELMARIT 24 mm?
Advertisement Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Hi Copenhagenliving, Take a look here Viewfinder for D-Lux 4 on a M8 Elmarit 24mm?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Nicoleica Posted December 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 2, 2009 Hi. You don't normally need an external finder for a 24mm lens on an M8, as the camera has 24mm framelines. The D-lux 4 finder will not really be suitable, as it doesn't have an extra set of frame marks to allow for for the M8 crop factor. (On an M8, the 24mm field of view is equivalent to approx. 32mm on a 'full-frame' 35mm camera.) It will be suitable for use on an M9 though should you migrate to one in the future.
