carlmuck Posted December 1, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 1, 2009 Fast question is the battery for the M9 the same as for the m8 and m8.2??Also anyone buy the small charger and if so do you like it better than the stock one for traveling? Jan Yes, same battery, M9 ones have more warnings and label is more readible. Camera also comes with the small charger. Which isn't as compact as you'd hope since it has a cord. It would be great if it worked as a wall wart. c.
reynoldsyoung Posted December 1, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 1, 2009 I spliced the cord down to 1'...love it now! Wonder why no wall wart?
AlanJW Posted December 1, 2009 Share #4 Posted December 1, 2009 You can get right angle plugs with figure 8 male connector that will fit into the female on the charger. That makes it into a wall wart. It's what I do. I have right angles for US, EU and UK. Plugs for Apple chargers work fine. Can get them on eBay for a few dollars. lej47 (Larry) Posted December 1, 2009 Share #6 Posted December 1, 2009 Say hello to Chris for me. Don't sell the 50 'Lux. Get the Steel Gray M9 so I can play with it at the Icehouse on the 19th. I'm wearing out my M8.2 down here in Florida. Call me after the Dodds show. Larry

cldp Posted December 2, 2009 Share #9 Posted December 2, 2009 You can get right angle plugs with figure 8 male connector that will fit into the female on the charger. That makes it into a wall wart. It's what I do. I have right angles for US, EU and UK. Plugs for Apple chargers work fine. Can get them on eBay for a few dollars. Can you suggest a source for the adaptors you describe [other than the Apple adaptors]? Thanks.

cldp Posted December 4, 2009 Share #11 Posted December 4, 2009 I just order 2 from ebay in black to match the charger like 6 dollars shipped it will also fit the GF1 charger. I've tried to find a US version on eBay but I'm obviously using an incorrect search phrase. Can someone clue me in. I think a direct plug is a great idea. Hate having to carry that cord. leicanut2 Posted December 5, 2009 Author Share #12 Posted December 5, 2009 Just key in ebay - Apple charger Plug - but be carefull what you buy if you inlarge the pictures of some of the plugs that say US plug you will see they are NOT a full figure 8 the lower part is flat those won't work. Others are the full 8 I don't have the M9 yet but do have the GF1 charger they are also a full figure 8 plug. Jan
Snapper UK Posted December 5, 2009 Share #13 Posted December 5, 2009 Another vote for Apple adapters. Also has anyone else notice significant improvement in battery life with the M9 over the M8? I thought the battery life in the M8 was terrible, but am not getting the same dire performance with the M9. In fact I would say that it was respectable. reynoldsyoung Posted December 11, 2009 Share #14 Posted December 11, 2009 Got one on eBay. Figure 8 goes into the charger fine. Then, the US prongs are not long enough to plug in. ?? Where did you find the black ones?
wattsy Posted December 11, 2009 Share #15 Posted December 11, 2009 Also has anyone else notice significant improvement in battery life with the M9 over the M8? Strikes me it's in the same ballpark - that is to say, average at best. Maybe your M8 was unusually thirsty?
reynoldsyoung Posted December 11, 2009 Share #16 Posted December 11, 2009 Found this one on eBay. Looks like it might be better than the Apple adapter??? Welcome, dear visitor! AlanJW Posted December 11, 2009 Share #17 Posted December 11, 2009 Found this one on eBay. Looks like it might be better than the Apple adapter??? This is the type I use. Also have one with European (Continental) two round prongs. I have the Apple adapter for UK but haven't tried to plug it in over there yet. Much more manageable than carrying cords.
