vdb Posted December 3, 2009 Share #8 Â Posted December 3, 2009 The scale is tremendous. Makes the people look lost in place. Very fine toning as well.
Marquinius Posted December 5, 2009 Author Share #9 Â Posted December 5, 2009 Underground, Caryl, Virgil: thanks indeed! The structure itself is a bit overdone (I mean, roman like pillars in Edinburgh?), but with the weather and the few people it made a good photo opportunity. antistatic Posted December 6, 2009 Share #10 Â Posted December 6, 2009 Nice work Marco. Â I spent a lovely hour or two at dawn on Carlton Hill when I was there in September.
eric_e Posted December 6, 2009 Share #11  Posted December 6, 2009 Marco  I live about half a mile from Calton Hill and this is is one of the best shots I have seen of this structure. Your B&W tones are lovely and the three guys could not have been placed any better. The structure was intended to be a copy of the Parthenon in Athens. Funds apparently ran out before completion. I hope you enjoyed your visit to Edinburgh.  Eric.
Marquinius Posted December 6, 2009 Author Share #12 Â Posted December 6, 2009 @David: dawn (or dusk) would be the right moment for this place. I can envision the light over the city! @Eric: humble thanks for a warm compliment and yes, I enjoyed Edinburgh. I'll certainly visit again, if only for the mix of culture and 700 pubs !
