CV 12mm on M9 (images)

Today I got the Voigtlander 12mm Ultra Wide-Heliar. Should be a fun lens. I expected it to vignette a lot and possibly exhibit the "red edge" phenomenon. It definitely vignettes, but the red edge issue is extremely minor on this lens. Here's a shot of a gray card:

As you might expect, the camera does vignette quite a bit. The vignetting is also shifted a bit towards cyan. However, there is very minimal "red edge" issues. This was taken with the lens detection set to "Off," so any corrections done on the image are defaults applied to all images (assuming Leica is doing any such global corrections). One other note on the red edge: just like on the CV 15 and CV21, the red edge is on both the left, and the bottom, although its much fainter on the bottom. It still hasn't show up on any other edge regardless of lighting, etc.

CornerFix has done a nice job again. Uncorrected, and then corrected:

i too am looking forward to using this lens on an m9 if i ever get one. composition-wise, it's quite distorting so i imagine it's much more difficult to use on the m9 than on the m8. to me, the magenta edge cast is quite strong in your images but if you download cornerfix it can probably solve it to some extent. the vignetting can be corrected by using an adapter and center neutral density filter that can be bought for this lens. the downside is that using it requires a slower shutter speed and you may need to carry a tripod

If you read my thread carefully, you will see that I use CornerFix and the second image is corrected with CornerFix. :D
