nikau Posted November 27, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) For some time I've been wondering what to do with a box of vials of Neofin Blue developer that I bought 11 years ago. They were never stored with any care and, as about 20 % of the content of each vial had evaporated, I had little hope that the developer would be any good. Anyway, I shot a few frames of Ilford Delta 100 and wound them onto a spiral. The working solution looked really awful as it went into the tank. But the film was perfect, an impressive testament to the longevity of the product ... or is it? I'm wondering if sealed, full bottles or vials of developer will typically last more than 10 years. Does anyone have experience with chemicals that are well past their use-by date?

jpattison Posted November 27, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 27, 2009 Hi, Did you compensate (longer development time, more agitation) at all? I used to use the Neofin Blue single use vials many (25) years ago, but haven't seen any for ages. John
