i have a 16gig mem card

is ther any way to open this limitation so i would be able to record in one shot as much as the mem card size?

can i do it by changing the firmware?

this limitation come from the size of 10min HD video and the format system of your card. FAT system (which is default allocation table) doesn't recognize files larger than 2GB. Other cameras override this limitations by start writing new file in the same shot session. Leica don't bother to develop. On the other hand there are probably other hidden reasons like overheating, problems on long sensor exposure and so on.

on the other hand 10 min it's not quite a limitation. this is not a professional video camera, and as snapshop videos I think is great designed.

well, a manually cut and go style maybe. pick a moment in 10 min interval and stop the recording. almost immediately start another one. anyway you can easily link them in post processing and I think through practice you will lose 0 time and feels like one long shot.

success.

"mess around with the firmware"?!

my personal feeling is for something more tangible but in the end is a matter of taste. As Leica firmware code is not open source I think you need to first "vandalize" firmware in order to further mess around. This thread become pretty useless at some point but for the sake of science I decide to reply.

the answer is NO!
