Overgaard Posted November 24, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 24, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) When I take a screen shot on my Mac, I get the sound of a camera taking a picture. And I have a sound-file of the Leica M8.2 shutter. Now, question is, how does one replace that system sound with the actual M8.2 shutter. Any ideas? Advertisement Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Hi Overgaard, Take a look here A silly but important request.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sandymc Posted November 24, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 24, 2009 I haven't done this, but I would think what you'd have to do is to open the Grab.app package (show package contents), then replace the SND files in the Resources folder of the package with your recording. Note that OS X may not be at all happy about that; making mods like that constitutes a security hazard. Sandy
noah_addis Posted November 24, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 24, 2009 I'd rather have my M9 sound like my Mac. Especially since I can turn the volume down on the Mac:D
2Bébèrt Posted November 24, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 24, 2009 Just tried it and it works. There are 2 files; Open OpenShutter and CloseShutter to be replaced with the Leica sound. You'll have to edit your file to extract the recocking. Then rename the 2 Leica sound files with the names in the Grab/Contents/Resources/ and have fun. Nicoleica Posted November 24, 2009 Share #6 Posted November 24, 2009 With wich program do you do screenshots? I believe that Thorsten is using the screenshot facility provided by the Mac OS. As per the below instructions.
ho_co Posted November 25, 2009 Share #7 Posted November 25, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Grab produces TIFFs, while the standard shortcut Nicole mentions produces PNGs. Since the two processes produce completely different sounds on my computer, I doubt that they use the same sound file. Anyone know where to change the shortcut sounds?
