lanetomlane Posted November 23, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 23, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) In my haste to get to the meeting in London on Saturday, I removed the battery charger from the mains (whilst charging a battery) without switching the mains off. I heard a "pop" and now the thing isn't working. It's no big deal as I had the battery charger from my second M8 body to fall back on. I've removed the sealing from the four screws which hold the two halves together but as of yet haven't separated the two halves. Does anyone know if there is a fuse, or some type of reset function inside the charger? Appreciate any advise as I would like to try and repair it so I have a spare. __________________________- Cheers, Tom Photography by Tom Lane

mikki Posted November 23, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 23, 2009 Well, a few weeks ago I experienced the same. Mine is on its way to Solms right now. I wouldn't dare to open it myself :-)
jaapv Posted November 23, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 23, 2009 There is a fuse inside. But it should be able to withstand this treatment. Only in the UK one has a switch in the wall socket, and chargers are not dying all over the world.

Once a charge is complete there wouldn't be current passing through it. Thanks for confirming there is a fuse inside, I thought there must be. Shouldn't be a problem to replace it. (Suppose I could always use a "6 inch nail" to prevent such a thing happening in future.) Thanks for your help & best regards Tom
