JHAG Posted November 27, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) What are those specks on this pic ? Suddenly, I have those on a series of 2 or 3 films. Never had those before, on the same lens, which is 3 years old. I juste scratch my head… nervously
Advertisement Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Hi JHAG, Take a look here Specks…. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
rob_x2004 Posted November 27, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 27, 2006 The large one at the top looks like grot doesnt it, like a hair / dust after processing. The smaller ones particularly noticable in the light brown look like little blisters or contamination in the film surface or emulsion dont they. What film? What did the film lab say they were? JHAG Posted November 27, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted November 27, 2006 The large one is obvious, not a problem (only it's not clean work…) The tiny ones are more disturbing. What kind of contamination : bad drying ? Portra 160. The lab said nothing : I will show them the series tomorrow. I'm surprised. Never had this before with them. Rolo Posted November 27, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 27, 2006 It's not your lens at all. I've seen them before with scan technique. Did the lab scan them; all 3 ?
JHAG Posted November 27, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted November 27, 2006 All of them done by the same pro Lab. On the same series, some images are clean, others are dotted with those specks. Problem is the specks are on the neg : I saw it with my large 6 x 6 loupe. Plus some hair… To me, the lab has a dirty bath or some botched drying. What do you think ? I think I will get back to do my own processing again… PS : I guess it's not the lens : problems are both on Summilux (2004) and Noctilux (2005) pics. Both lens dead ? Come on…
