ptarmigan Posted October 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I use Aperture and PS CS3. Does anyone know, if I buy this product, can I use it in both Aperture and CS3? I have a demo version which I have been using in CS3 for 12 days and decided to try it out in Aperture as well. It seems I have only 2 days left in either program. So if I buy it, can I install and use it on both? Can't seem to find this info anywhere. I assume the same applies to CS3 (or 4) and Lightroom? Thanks in advance.
Advertisement Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Hi ptarmigan, Take a look here Using Nik Silver EFX with multiple photo editing suites. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Rolo Posted October 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 22, 2009 Ian, your password will apply to Photoshop, Lightroom and Aperture, does for me anyway.
ptarmigan Posted October 22, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted October 22, 2009 Rolo Thanks, I thought so but it's not clear on their site. Oddly though, it works in CS3 and Aperture but I can't get it to install in Lightroom 2 or at least it's not visible. Any ideas? Since meeting you on the Leica course, I have been looking at Lightroom and I am currently trialling it, I have had Aperture for some time but have stopped using it since I started shooting with the M8 as it doesn't convert the files as well as ACR or C1. By the way, great session at the weekend and I will be in touch shortly as I'd like to discuss some more advanced tuition for PS and or Lightroom once I finally decide which application I am going to adopt. Rolo Posted October 22, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 22, 2009 Ian, there's a separate download for Lightroom. You need to install that, if not already done. Look forward to hear from you. The two course days were great fun for both Brett and I. Hopefullym there'll be more of the same.
digger1914 Posted October 22, 2009 Share #5 Posted October 22, 2009 There is a version they sell (Utlimate I think) that will work on PS, Aperture and Lightroom. I have that version and it works fine on all 3 platforms.
Guest WPalank Posted October 22, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 22, 2009 ...... I can't get it to install in Lightroom 2 or at least it's not visible. If installed correctly in Lightroom you can either access the Nik Plug-ins through Photo > Edit In > Nik... or right click on the image in the Develop module and select Edit In > Nik... ptarmigan Posted October 22, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted October 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks everyone. I have it all working now. Not keen on shelling out for the 'full' kit though, especially for all packages.
