  1. Hey everyone! Great to see the forum looking stronger than ever. No surprises but the Leica M10 produces amazing files. So if anyone is still on the fence about this wonderful camera, pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed, I have a couple here and on my blog, last month I posted a selection of my favorite images from 2018.
  2. As a photographer, wedding life is many things. Shots of a different type are in abundance. Leica M10+Summilux 35mm, Houston, Texas
  3. Hey folks: I have joined this ace Leica forum today and it's super informative so thanks for letting me in and I know I will be able to source so much valuable information from you guys I have been a big fan of Leica for over a year now (I also recently own the M6 and M9) – the files the Q produces for me are so so good, even the Jpegs are just sublime and have such beautiful tones that give that ‘film’ like image which I love. It was gamble to use this at a wedding with only 2 days of purchasing but I loved every second of it. I must have shot 80% of the day with it and I shot most of the wedding the day after with it too. I have now started to couple up the 'Q' with the M9 using 50mm 2.0 Summilux at weddings and that combo has been a massive game changer for me So although it's not by best wedding in really flat light ( I live in Manchester UK ) here’s a few frames from just the Leica Q so the time is near to ditch all my 'weighty' Canon gear. http://www.dsbcreativeblog.com/a-few-frames-with-the-leica-q-laura-david-at-styal-lodge/ Thank to Ben and the chaps at Leica Manchester for hooking me up and for featuring this wedding on their blog - absolute stars!! Please go on easy on me too folks
  4. Hey all. I wrote a mini post about my first year shooting weddings with the Q. Still loving it! Feel free to have a browse :-) http://www.adamrileyphotography.com/for-photographers/1-year-of-weddings-with-the-leica-q/
  5. A bride and groom kiss after a toast. Leica M(240) + Noc f0.95

    Spiral love

  7. A few favorite frames shot with a M and a 35mm cron from a recent wedding. Comments and critiques always welcome.
  8. A series of images recently captured with a M9+35 lux. The rest of the images with a Nikon D4 are here on my blog. Always appreciate your feedback.
  9. A few pictures from a intimate wedding I photographed last Friday. Most of my weddings I shoot with the Leica M9 and a Summilux 35mm f1.4 but I do use a Nikon D3 also for really wide or telephoto shots. The rest of the Nikon images are on my blog here. My Leica images are below.
  10. So how many of you are using an MP, whether stock or a-la-carte? I'm curious to know why Leica decided to put the rewind knob on stock MPs instead of the M7-style crank. Ah, if you want the rewind crank, just double the price, right? Second question... I photograph weddings for my business and am switching from digital EOS back to Leica M... like I used to! Do those of you who use MP cameras out there find the rewind knob excruciatingly slow and painful? How quick can you rewind and change films? Thanks very much!
  11. About one month ago I sold my Canon 5D MK2 all lenses and flash accessories, today I’m a proud owner of a Leica M8 brand new and a second-hand M6, 28mm f/2 Summicron ASPH, 50mm f/2 Summicron. I’m not a pro but a serious amateur, with the occasional wedding to shoot. With this in mind, should I be buying the 24D or the SF 58 flash? I’m not a big fan of flash and probably will us it on rare occasion, but I need one! Want some know-how feedback on this one? Thanks Bernard

  14. Hi dear fellow photographers The M9. I had my reservations, I had my problems. I asked, and complained about it in this forum and got some good advice. But I was not really convinced. The 35 Summilux FLE. Again disappointments, was nearly about to sell it. Thought about to separate from Leica totally. There where moments of frustration but also moments of joy. I am a professionell wedding photographer and shoot mainly in unposed journalistic style. Yeah, easy answer, the M9 is for you you might say. I thought so, too. But parallax, fast moving situations with open aperture and low light shooting were the issues that made my problems. In the end I found peace - in Bali. No, I am not Julia Roberts but still, I found my peace with my M9 and Summilux combo. I actually love it. The colors, the out of focus rendering, the handling. It was just pure fun to use it. And I am happy with the results. The M9 will get a lot of work next season... If you like, see some pictures from my journey to Bali (the M9/35 was accompanied with the D700 and a 85/1.4) a professional shooting: Schmidt Wedding Photography a little private notebook of my time in Bali: Schmidt Wedding Photography So, now probably is the time to try the 75 Summicron/Summilux, and the journey will start again... heiko schmidt
