- the M - after working professionally for a few years I have shot nearly every camera system available. It took me many attempts to finally settle on the Leica for good. It is simply the most magic tool out there. It´s not the quality, it´s the joy and simplicity of use that sets her apart. She is no easy, just give yourself time to really get to know her... to discover her soul. I don't want to sound too pathetic, but I strongly believe this tool helped me to become the photographer I am (for the good and the bad). all Leica M240 and either 35 FLE or 35 IV. heiko

I shot weddings with nearly everything: Nikon, Sony, Fuji, Leica... you name it. After getting the new Sony A9, which is a fantastic camera, I started to feel bored, uninspired and just had the feeling I am operating a game-controller, but not a camera anymore. I got out my old M9 and an 35 Summicron and took it with to weddings again. Can´t remember when I last time hat so much fun shooting 12 hours straight. I don´t know what happened, but after years of trying Leica at weddings and leaving it again for not being fast enough, I now finally feel comfortable to shoot anything with it that arises. I needed to adapt my technic a bit, but that went quick and easy. So I pulled the trigger, sold my Sony A9, and got the Leica M-P and the 35 Summilux FLE. I nearly forgot how amazing this lens is... Recently a wedding couple from Australia booked me, so I flew over the pond and got their wedding. Solely shot with the M-P and the 35. Wanna see, what came out? https://hamburg-hochzeitsfotografen.de/wedding-in-australia-leica-m-p-with-35-summilux/ Any comments, good or bad are appreciated (0: heiko

The arriving of the bride at the church is probably one of the most anticipated moments for a bridegroom in his wedding day. Now let me dedicate this shot to those forum members who already lived such a moment but also to those of you who have not but are considering the plunge;-) Leica Q.

I was looking through a photog magazine and came across a photo which immediately caught my eye due to such a DOF and the photo was wide angle. In the remarks it was identified the photo was made using the "Brenizer Method" so i followed the link to get more information. see https://photographylife.com/advanced-photography-techniques-brenizer-method-panorama for details. In a nutshell he uses a long portrait lens at widest aperture and makes a stitched image using several photo in photoshop. Apparently this produces a photo inherently close to a medium format look with lots of details. Now, If say you wanted a similar effect but without all the photo shop work, can the Leica 21mm Summilux-M @f/1.4 produce a similar photo ? There are plenty of photos on net where the individual was shooting an object at f/1.4 and the isolation from that lens is fairly spectacular. My question then is how much diff is there between the Brenizer method and the 21 lux. I dont have a 21 lux to compare but I was going to try with a 35mm lux later today to see what I get. Thx MJ

Really enjoying shooting with the Leica M9 and a Summilux 35mm. Love the light this time of the year all shot last weekend in San Antonio, Texas. Enables me to focus on the images and the scene within a scene. Most of my getting ready, ceremony and part of the reception is shot with the M9, the rest is split up with a Nikon D3 and wide angle and telephoto lenses. They're on my blog. Part two here.

Anyone interested in doing some wedding photos for a not very formal wedding in the Laguna Beach area in November (19th)? I envision that this would be more on the order of candids and RF style than staged and flashed - maybe good for someone starting out or out for a nice afternoon without the usual wedding photography stress and usual format of events.
