  1. It was an ominous dusk with the rainstorm hovering. The old MR-4 meter did a great job. I was holding my umbrella in left hand and then did all settings adjustment with my right hand, which I’ve practiced a lot so it was not a big deal. Leica M3, Light Lens Lab 35/2, Kodak Vision3 5219@800
  2. South Downs National Park, Hampshire, England. Not the best of weather, but trying to get out of the rut. I am also trying to change direction away from street photography a bit: Leica M240 + 50mm Summicron-M f2 Gerry
  3. Hello everyone. I do not own Leica camera. Still carrying 6kg+ in my backpack full of Nikon DX. so Im about to jump for something that is simply 600g FX and one lens. Leica Q fits that description, as I like travel photography, nature and street photo. I'm planing trip to Cuba this year and I go with 600g camera only. Will Q also survive normal weather conditions? (light rain, fog, cold, warm, humidity) or are they fragile? Apparently Q is not weather sealed? My Nikon D90 also not and went through hell, Rain, fog, Humidity in warm climate and it survived. does Leica cameras go ever on sale? Or can dealer provide discount? Where do you shop? -> do you use protective case? thank you guys for your patience.
  4. I recently bought a M240. Now in Norway there has been two days with temperatures around zero degrees celsius. I went out shooting both days, and both days the same thing happened. Suddenly and without warning the camera seemed to lock itself. None of the buttons worked. I could still fire the shutter, but no pictures were recorded. Anyone have a clue?
  5. Taken whilst walking through Brugge (Belgium) shortly after a rainstorm using the M9 and 35mm Summarit f2.8. I hope you like it!
  6. Bad weather I like. Well, for photography that is... It can make an otherwise dull place that little bit more interesting. My home town is decidedly dull. Even duller on a rainy day. But I managed to get three shots that was worthwhile. This one of them, hope you like it! (M9 with an old 35mm Summicron)
  7. Are there any new "space age" type gloves/mittens that would permit convenient and comfortable use of the camera in below freezing temperatures? Providing some protection from the cold yet maintaining flexibility and tactile sensing of focus ring and shutter release. Camera itself inside my jacket until being used. Thanks, Harry
  8. Hi everyone, I’m hesitating which color film to choose for shooting in cloudy rainy day. What are your recommendations? I have all my fridge all color films that are in production nowadays + Fuji Pro 400H
  9. M10-P, Minolta M-Rokkor 40/2, TCP Portra 800, ISO3200, F2.8, 1/125s.
  10. HUI all I'm off to Iceland soon with my Q2 and M10. Looks like there'll be a lot of rain. I've used both cameras in the rain occasionally, but am now wondering about some kind of waterproof cover. I know they are fiddly and hard to use, but are they worth the hassle? If so, any recommendations for Lecia bodies? Thanks
  11. From the album: My posts

Weather phenomenon known as "inversion" over the Salt Lake Valley. Cold air is trapped in the valley and leads to decrease in air quality over time. A sensitive issue in Northern Utah (and elsewhere). Summicron 50 (IV) on Leica M9

  12. From the album: My posts

A storm coming in over the Salt Lake Valley and the Oquirrh Mountains. Elmarit-M 28 (IV) on Leica M9

  13. On page 21, under TOUGH, the brochure states: "People who take photography seriously usually live their lives at the edge; in searing heat or bitter cold, pouring rain or swirling dust. The M is built to be consistent, dependable and tough under almost any imaginable condtions". I guess we can now make photos in the rain?

  15. hello everyone! i read a lot about leica users being worried about their cameras getting wet and stuff...so here is a little field report: i am now back from a 3 day assignment covering a traditional mountain crossing in austria...first day was perfect weather so no problems...2nd day was not quite as good...it poured down the whole day...and we had to walk down from 2200m to 600m above sea level for about 7 hours...to make it short: everything was completely soaked...i for myself, my backpack and my lowe carrying case (which is of very good quality, but you guys know that...they arent the sexiest bags out there but worth the money)...since i was on an assignment i had to take photos...and my m9-p got really really wet...and not just that...since it was so cold and humid outside, once we entered huts on the way the camera steamed up real bad...it looked like there were 2mm of water around the camera...that left me a bit worried so i wiped it as good as i could until it got warm enough...then out again, then in again and so on...that whole story went on for 7 hours and i tell you again, everything was soaked and i was worried as hell so the good news: the camera was and still works perfect! no worries at all...crystal clear and sharp images! so to make it short for real this time: it might not be weather sealed, but it can take a lot, that little m9-p fella i love this little thing!
