  1. Cosina drops 4 variants of the newest 28mm f/1.5 classic 60-year-old design lens: aluminium, obviously lightweight (250g) and comes in silver and black, and brass (330g), which is solid and heavier and also comes in silver and matte black paint. The latter has a removable focusing pin that fits inside the focusing tab. MFD remains in the classic Voigtlander zone at 0.5m. Hoods are extra. All specs are available on their website. Will you get one? Update by LUF Admin 2024-01-04 Voigtländer just sent me images and specs, you’ll find them here:
  2. For UWA lens fans and users: could you work/live with just one UWA lens to rule them all (say, 15mm or 18mm) or would you rather have two extreme sides of UWA (like Laowa 9mm/Voigtlander 10/12mm and a 21mm)? Your thoughts are appreciated.
  4. Hi guys, this is my very first post over here after reading it since I've got my M3. I was using it with my friend's Summarit 50, while searching for an optimal lens for me. Finally, I've decided to buy a Voigtlander Nokton 50/1.5. Fortunately, I've managed to get one for a test ride (actual the one, I'll buy, if i do so) and I've experience the following situation with it: when I put it on my camera, it doesn't click. Like if the lens release button (or how is it called officially?) doesn't clicks into the lens. So I can take off the lens of the body without pressing the lens release button. Interesting, though, I can't rotate the lens in the opposite direction without pressing the button. What can I do in that case? The guy has an M6 and 240 and he doesn't have that issue. I've tried to unscrew the button and check it on both lenses, but it seems identically the same, till the last micro mm. Here's a video demonstraing the problem: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10156939/Video%2007-03-15%2012%2049%2029.mov Thanks alot, guys much love
  5. http://soundvisionpassion.com/2011/1...-color-skopar/ Hey everyone! I finally got my review up of this little lens. The 21mm F/4 is a fantastic lens. It doesn't change the world over, but for a 21mm lens, it is pretty darn amazing when it's price is factored in. I found a method of focusing to .5m on the M8 that works every time in the field. (even wide open!) I can nail sharp focus. I don't know if this works with other .5m lenses yet...but maybe someone can try it with the new 35 1.2. You can see detailed shot of how to focus to .5 in the write up! Let me know if this works for you as well!
  6. Recently did a spin around the Tibetan Autonomous Zone of west Sichuan Province. Took an M9 and a few VC and Zeiss lenses. Didn't have much time to shoot as the guys I was with just wanted to drive like madmen. We were above 4000 meters for 12 days. I got a back and had a little problem with my card reader in the M9, took for service and they told me I will get it back in eight months. I like the M9, but at the end of the day it's a toy and not something for serious work. As I can't figure out how to add images to the gallery I created, I will just post a few here instead. Can check out more here. VC 50/1.5 VC 75/1.8 VC 75/1.8
8. Hello, What lens profile are people using with this lens on the M240 with the latest firmware? I have read many articles that states that both the WATE (21mm), Summicron 28mm, and 21mm f/2.8 lens profiles works good. Though, I guess one profile must be more suited for this lens than others?
Was würdet ihr mir empfehlen?
Danke!
  12. My 75mm Color Heliar Review So I finally got this review up. I have been spending a lot of time with this lens since the fall. I have completed a huge project with this lens exclusively. An ebook of the work is coming too. I have completely fallen for this lens in a major way! For me personally, I would choose this lens over the new Heliar every time. The rendering on the Color Heliar is so unique! I would love to spend time with a 75mm summicron and see how it really compares in the long run. Any opinions on this lens versus the Summicron 75? http://gallery.ancientcityphoto.com/photos/i-CFFNLsK/0/L/i-CFFNLsK-L.jpg
  13. Hi all, I've seen this lens popping on ebay already from some camera sellers (at least in Germany) and was wondering if anyone has already seen/tried it and how it compares to the previous version. I know that there are cosmetic differences and one mechanical difference (the new one can focus down to 0.5 meters as opposed to the 0.7 of the previous version) but I couldn't confirm if the optical formula is identical and if the new lens can deliver the same picture quality. Any news or reviews anyone? Cheers, KM
  14. Hi all I just got an M8 and I'm not amazing with technical stuff so was hoping you would be able to advise. I want to get my first lens. Right, should I get the: Voigtlander Nokton 40mm 1.4 (Voigtlander 40mm f1.4 VM Nokton lens - alternative standard VM bayonet | Robert White Photographic Ltd) Or Voigtlander Nokton 35mm 1.4 (Voigtlander 35mm f1.4 VM Nokton Classic | Robert White Photographic Ltd) I'm a little confused about framelines, does the 35mm fit to the inner or outer lines on this example? - M8 Framelines from the M8 instruction manual | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Where would the 40mm fit, inside the inner lines but with no real guide? How big a difference will there be in terms of how zoomed in the lens is (I don't know the right terminology, but understand) I understand the crop factor is 1.33? I am used to using a digilux 3 with 30mm sigma 1.4, on which I think the crop factor is 2. Any other opinions I would be interested to hear. I care about size, weight, ease of use and of course quality of picture. Cheers Steve.
  15. Flickr 上 Jimmy C. Yang 的 Hat Man I saw this guy on bus, and I thought it will be an interesting shot.
  16. Another few from India. This was my first time using a digital rangefinder, so a couple thoughts about that as well. The fact I didn't have to lug around Canon stuff made a massive difference. And not putting this massive camera between myself and my subjects definitely made for more natural portraits IMO. And manual focus at wide apertures really slowed me down. In a good way. The only issue I was having was vignetting and magenta with the CV 35/2.5 and 21/4. This was cleared up by using the in camera profiles. It was like I had brand new lenses. After that I had far more confidence in the files. The RAW files look amazing. The best thing is that the M9 makes me want to travel.

  22. Hello, I'm a teenager photographer who would like to by a M system on a budget. Possibly below ~850$. Thing's I'd like. -The body must be compatible with the Voigtlander 15mm Screwmount with an adapter. -A meter would be ideal, but not absolutely necessary. -Good viewfinder -At least somewhat stable I don't reall have any specification on lenses, other than I already know I'd get a 15mm 4.5 screwmount. If you have any other opinion such as getting a R setup, please tell me!
Grazie mille in anticipo a tutti. Hello everyone, anyone can help me, I would be able to use the 35mm f / 1.4 I use on M6 also with the M9, but I read in a table found on the net that this lens is not compatible with a similar 6-bit. At the moment I can not use the rangefinder for the correct focus. Thank you in advance to all.

I've worked on this project for over a year now. This combination of camera and lens and specific lighting conditions were the only combo that was giving me exactly the rendition I wanted. It's amazing how awesome the M8 is. I love that camera! I have a few on my blog, and will be putting up some more and some behind the scenes kinda stuff shortly. I also have an ebook available that features these images and more. It was designed for digital reading. You can see it here if you are interested. http://soundvisionpassion.com/2012/0...now-available/
