We drove down US I-81 and stopped to the Natural Bridge... once considered with Niagara Falls as among the natural wonders of the USA. It has been well photographed in the past especially from the side represented in the image below. The bridge is over 200 feet tall and once formed the roof of a huge cavern system through which a river ran. If I lived in the area I think I would try to photograph the bridge in all seasons and in varied weather conditions (snow, fog)... perhaps at sunset as well... although it is dark in the valley. Thanks for looking and for comments as well.

While on a woodland walk... the day was overcast and on turning around ready to go home a break in the clouds allowed for a small pool of dappled light to illuminate this small berry bush. Really quiet dramatic. Very much in the spirit of this seasion. Many thanks for looking and for your comments.

In Charlottesville Virginia, the University is lit and heated by means of a coal fired plant. It is one of 60 such plants located on university property and operated by a university in the USA. As one might imagine it is the source of considerable opposition from environmental groups. Photographically it is a dramatic structure and at night illuminated and clearly visible from the main drag in town makes for a powerful photo opportunity. Thanks for looking and for your comments.

I was recently in the United States and made this 4 image stitched pano of Rockfish Gap in West Central Virginia. To the north lies Skyline drive and to the south, the Blue Ridge Parkway... both very scenic. The gap depicted here was a major path through the mountains to western settlement in the 1700's. Many thanks for looking and comments.
