  2. Hi everyone, I own a Summicron 50mm V2 DR and Type 1. I know the lens head should be detachable from the focusing mechanism in order to mount on bellows. This works correctly on the Type 1, but on the DR, when I turn the lens head, only the section housing the front elements rotates, thus revealing the aperture blades inside once removed, instead of detaching all elements in one block. I could try bypassing this section by rotating the aperture ring, but this feels unsafe as rotating the ring with force might damage the blades inside. I hope I've explained this clearly enough - not sure if anyone has a solution? I'm trying to remove the lens head on both lenses in order to swap them out, since the DR optics are cleaner but I prefer the size of the Type 1. (P.S. I'm not the type to attempt lens repair/cleaning myself, but this is a function built into the lens by Leica) Thanks in advance
  3. pity its only in Japanese.. "This book is a comprehensive collection of such masterpiece lenses. In addition to historical knowledge and descriptions by photographers, we also provide information on "lens experiences"
  4. Hello everyone, I was lucky to have find this original 1950's Voigtlander Nokton 50mm 1.5. Can anyone tell what's the value of this vintage gem? I almost find no info on value from this original version. Thank you
  5. Since I saw this on the street, I'm posting it here. Orange, California. D-Lux. Ece
  6. Here's a post of some pics I recently took with my Leica I Model C and Summar 5cm f2. Lots of Leica posts on my blog, just search "Leica." But, since this is my oldest Leica (ca. 1931), I thought it may be of interest. 7.
  8. Hi I'm looking for advice on some cheap thrills for my M9.... I'm looking for a focal length greater than 50mm and has to be RF coupled so don't have to guess oh and it needs to be cheap, cheaper the better. I'm looking for something with a bit of character, bit of sharpness does harm but it does need to corner to corner or break any records. Thanks in advance
  9. Greeting Folks, Thought to share this image which I rather like; the oldest wine bar in London, photographed with a 1959 50mm Summilux on an M 240: Gordon's wine bar | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Cheers, Edmond :-)

  11. Hi all, I've been "lurking" this forum for a long time trying to get as much information about vintage Leica's as I can, especially about fakes. I've stumbled across a Leica II I really like, but before I shell out the money for it I was wondering if you pros would have a look at it. Thanks! (and if all goes well I hope to be contributing to this forum a lot more in the near future) I'm currently thinking it's a fake most notably for the facts that: -the viewfinder bezel is squared off -the shutter release is flared -the body around the viewfinder juts out The thing it has going for it is the presence of very low shutter speeds, which I understand is normal for the military issue ones. note: I can post higher res images if that's allowed and if it will help.
