  1. Sometimes a photo gets a wrong capture time has anyone noticed this before? I have seen this 3 times already but cannot detect a pattern, the capture time is just a few hours wrong. (I have the latest firmware installed). Any help would be appreciated. If more people notice this we might get Leica's attention to fix this.
  2. This happened when the 3/2016 LFI issue was released I still can not buy any newer magazines and the 1960s old LFI issues I went to buy an issue to click the buy button it had the spinning gear for a minute and eventually timed out error I have good internet connection I have tried it through wi fi and 4g networks Still no better I tried using on another iPad no better I even tried un installing the app and reinstalling the app I have even tried logging out of iTunes and sign back in again I have even gone to Apple Store and tried to sort it out with the Genius Bar he installed it on his iPad and still having the same problem on his ipad I have contacted the LFI support and communicated with them many times They are still looking into the the problem anybody else having the same problem?
  3. This morning I was happily using Lightroom 6 and then closed it while I did other things. Now, when I try to open it, it doesn't do so. It gets as far as the start-up screen and 'golden trees' image and then freezes - 'not responding' appears at the top and in Task Manager. I've checked the Adobe product forums but there's no clue. Any ideas?
  4. I recently purchased a Leica M6 TTL second hand (SN 246914 if it's helpful) and I've been loving it but having ongoing and difficult to resolve issues with some horizontal markings even after multiple repairs and I am really hoping someone here is able to provide some insight into how I can resolve this problem. Initially, the effect was quite bad and had some big distortion on the whole left hand side of the frame even in not particularly bright scenes. As there are a few samples and the photos are larger than the file limit, I've placed them all in a dropbox link here (see before_repair images). Seeing this, I discussed the issues with the previous owner who was very helpful, but had not seen the issues at all when he was shooting with it previously. He also hadn't been using the camera very much in the lead up to him selling it. I took the camera to Camera Clinic for repairs in Melbourne. The report from this repair entailed the technician 'straightening the distorted shutte light traps. adjust the shutter speeds. re-assemble and test'. After these repairs the effect was greatly reduced, however, I still noticed that there were some issues when shooting into bright light in particular (see after_first_repair images in the dropbox). Keen to get the issue fully resolved I took it back to Camera Clinic and discussed the issue with the technician. His theory was that the metal on the interior frame edges may have been partially removed so bright scenes cause reflected light off the frame edges resulting in the marks. Accordingly, he 'applied a dark mask to the frame edge' in the second repair. Unfortunately when I was shooting in bright scenes again I noticed that the issue was still occuring much to my dismay (see after_second_repair image). I really love this camera and I am super excited to keep using but before I have some long stints of travel and shooting I'd really love to get the camera in full working order, especially as I am often shooting in bright scenes. If there is any insight or help anyone is able to provide in fixing the problem it woud be greatly appreciated! I'm very happy to provide any extra photos or details if it helps in diagnosing the issue as well Cheers for reading, Josh
  5. I purchased my Leica M11 Monochrom in July of this year. I have updated it to the latest 2.0.1 firmware. The lens attached 100 percent of the time is the LLL 50 F2.0 ELCAN and it saves files to a UHSII 300MB/s Sandisk 128gb SD card. Recently while shooting continous low or high, after a certain amount of bursts, I see a partial or full screen black areas that appear on live view and in the DNG files. What could be the cause of this? I aim currently on holiday in Japan and am looking to have it serviced at their Ginza service center. They claim to be able to repair by replacing my shutter but will take three weeks. I would have to fly back into tokyo in three weeks time if what they say is true. Can I take their word for it that it will only take three weeks? I eagerly await your helpful comments and suggestions
  6. Okay guys, need help with this rangefinder issue. the image comes up at crooked, and it's making focusing kinda annoying. Any idea what could have caused this? Do I just need to send it away to be serviced? thanks- Massoud
  7. This is my first forum post. Apologies if this is the wrong forum for my question--please tell me if I should post in another forum for this. I inherited my grandfather's doublestroke m3 and started to return to film photography with it. After reading lots of reviews, I bought a new Zeiss 50mm Planar f/2--it is generally reviewed as exceptionally sharp. I just got back my first few rolls of film think that the images all suffer from a softness. I know there are several variables at play here, but I wanted other opinions on how to trouble shoot this. The images were shot on Kodak Portra 160 and professionally developed. I scanned using my Epson v600 with silverfast 8, 3200 ppi. I also have a medium format camera and have gotten extremely crisp images using the same setup. The leica/zeiss images all seem soft to me. I'm wondering if this is 1) a focus issue, 2) some defect with the lens (purchased new over ebay from Japan), 3) a scanning issue, 4) this is normal for 35mm film scans and my expectations are biased by coming from medium format. I do no think the softness is due to camera shake because I'm seeing it in all images and they were mostly taken at a shutter speed faster than 1/125. thanks for any advice. Here is a sample image: and here is a 100% enlargment.
  8. I took a very underexposed shot and tried raising the exposure 3.4 stops, and I expect noise, but what are these horizontal lines? Is it normal? This was taken with my 'new' used LeicaQ. Is this expected? I've never seen this before, and I've definitely shot underexposed before. Should I return this camera? Is it defective? Thank you!
