  1. Last week we still had that nice warm November weather. A short moment of golden light was there and it was just time enough to run with the tripod from one angle to the other. Olympus OMD EM5 with Nocticron
  2. these days are incredibly serene and with their mild temperatures one can still remember summer. The scenery shows a small üprotected area with reed and ponds. The ponds once served a textile company for clearifying the water. These ponds are no longer neede and so this area became a protected environment. Small as it is it offers a lot to see and when the season is right, one can watch a lot of birds. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 90 mm, pano stitched out of 2 pictures
  3. Bigger > https://msvphoto.wordpress.com/2015/05/01/its-the-end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it/ M9, 35'cron
  4. Posted on the shortest day of the year, a reminder of summer It never ceases to amaze me just how many variations of a colour Mother Nature can offer.
  5. …on a cold winter's afternoon. In the left background, the Star & Garter home for military veterans, now sold to a developer to convert into luxury apartments...
  6. It is winter but we miss the real feeling because we don't have much snow here. As soon as a single snowflake is showing itself I start watching and if ther is a thin layer I start off for a short visit to my favourite locations (if it is a weekend and I can reach ther in daylight) In this case it was very late and light was fading. Climbing with tripod and camera being already mounted I could not roam because time ran out. all with Canon 5D MKII and Elmarit R 90 mm
  7. The village square, St.-Julien, Bordeaux, at dusk. M240 with 50mm APO-Summicron at about f/2.8.
  8. these are from my visit to a nearby forest. In spite of being perfumed we we under attack of midges living on a close cow meadow. We thought it woud be dark soon, so the dark side of the forest had its showdown. Light was fading quickly here. All with Canon 5D MKII and Elmarit R 60 mm macro on tripod.
  9. my favourite newly discovered forest unfolds its magic by and by. Every time I go thee it offers something new. Canon 5D MKII and my favourite Elmarit R 60 mm macro lens + polarizer
  10. these are from my walk in the evening atmosphere of our deep Teutoburger Wald Forest. It was almost dusk then. Therefore all pictures are longtime exposures (approx 20-25 secs). This is why you might discover some faint blur in the foliage. A slight movement of it is always there. All with Canon 5D MKII and Elmarit 60 mm macro plus Leica Apo Converter 2x,
  11. Happy Earth Day! I just posted a short series on soil erosion and root systems in NJ. A number of them were scans taken with my trusty M6. 12. A foggy day but well worth the walk to the end of the point at Cape Flattery, Washington. Leica S (006) with 70mm Summarit-S
  13. As soon as the first snowflake has shown up, you can be sure to find people being busy to work on the small slope. Whatever tool from frying pan to sledge will be good enough for fun. Specially the dogs feel happy. Leica Q
  14. At least temperateratures went down last weekend and a thin layer of snow even covered the ground. The Q this time as a wideangle lens and backup In the background one can see the tower of our fort of Bielefeld
  15. This pathway is on the hill above our city, next to my home. It leads up to our fort and is the end of a long hiking trail over 200 km long. It offers nice forest, vantage points over the city and a parklandscape. Leica Q with a domelike lensflare
  16. In spite of crouching at the sofa or gazing at the PC it is sometimes a better therapy to go out and try to catch a few frames in the darkness. I started late afternoon just before the heavy darkness to settle in. Leica Q
  17. What can be done after sitting in the house gazing on all that depressice grey dull winter mood? I thought the light mist in the air could possibly give an interesting light effect. Leica Q
  18. It was a lovely warm and pleasant evening. The park was crowded with students. It was fun watching their different activities Olympus OMD EM5 with Leica/Panasonic Nocticron 42.5/1.2 Asph.
  19. every morning when I go to my office I walk through a little park at our main hospital. When light is promising theX1 is my companion for the day. Since it is dark in the morning an dark when going home such a sight in the morning is a gift for the day.
  20. Olympus OMD EM5 with Elmarit R 90 mm
  21. nature is changing every day and only weekends are free for new discoveries. This time our trip lead us to explore our neighbourhood landscape. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 28 mm, polarizer, ND graded filter. I found this combination is ideal and provides more contrast and helps controlling the bright sky and easier exposure on the landscape.
