Bryce Canyon, the Navajo Trail has a slot canyon. The red rocks were quite dark and yet there was light. So I was enthusiastic of what the sensor of the Leica Q can capture. It works when the highlight are not burnt and the depth can always be processed up to 2 stops.

That day in early october started promising with a cold temperatures, clear air and a golden light. I decided to roam ina nearby park on a hill in my hometown. Light was gorgeous so I could not make up my mind and processed a bw series from those pictures which were being planned as such. Olympus EM 5 with Summilux

Last Weekend we went to a city on occasion of a firework to the city of Dortmund. As it took place in an illuminated park we spent a couple of hours there and felt as if being in a colorful fairy tale. (My shots with 5DMKII+Mamiya zoom lens can be seen on my Flickr account) Olympus EM 5 with Summilux 15 mm used as back-up camera. It was also good to have a fast prime lens which had to be handheld, since the tripod word with the heavier camera. Enjoy the color burst!

these are my first attempts with infrarerd photography. I bought 2 filters, so that can cover the range of my lenses. For my MKII I discovered that only Novoflex adapter is lightproof, so exercises with this camera will follow later on when we get another series of nice lighting. It seems that subjects can be found anywhere if light is contrasty enough. A different world of light and subject is waiting to be discovered and inviting for light adventures. Have a look. these days are a never ending chain of thunderstorm and short bright moments. when I was in the near forest I became aware of this stramge formation. Our city is in an area of moderate "storms" and normally we do not have heavy damages. Rain immediately started and I only found some sort of shelter under an old beech tree. mild temperatures brought forward all blosoms and all greenery forward and everything is 4 weeks earl this year. So to explore the countryside and forests is pleasant. Difficult light for exposures is most tricky because of the bright sky and much stray light. Therefore I used a combination of filters. In this case graded ND filter + polarisation filter on Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 28 mm

When the winter sun is ot even the forest can look delightful. Temepratures were mild a a kind of spring was in the air. Leica Q, pano stitched from 3 pictures

these last days we were what april usually is: a mix of rain, gusts, and sunshine - all in all a bit cool also. When in the evening it became a bit more calm I sneaked out into our adjacent park landscape. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 28 mm, polrisation filter and graded ND filter.

it was one last warm late autumn evening and it was almost dark. So I did a longtime exposure of about 15 secs. Since there was a slight breeze you will notice swaying branches and their blurr. But this is part of the message. Mounted was the R Summircon 50 mm on Canon 5D MKII.

our souls are suffering from lack of sunshine but for the camera these dull days are very busy. Our so familiar places show a different unknown side and character. Canon 5D MKII plus Elmarit R-60 mm + Apo converter 2x

Weather was all day very dull. As soon as a soft hopeful light appeared in the early evening I sneaked out, snatched my X1 in case I might find something motivating.

When roaming through the quiet morning beech tree forest oen could only hear a slight breeze and the sound of falling leaves. How to frame this? A few sunrays fell on the beech tree and I waited for a light gush of wind. High ISO was nececssary to get the leaves sharp with a shutterspeed of 1/250. An experiment of of several shots was neccessary, but time for this was limited because of fading light. Thanks for looking
