  1. From the album: Monochrome

  2. This family was enjoying: the activity of the man was followed by his family and all were in a very calm contemplative mood. San Francisco, Baker Beach Olympus EM5 + Nocticron
  3. Lucked out with a rainstorm around sunset. All pics taken with Leica X2.
  4. The footbridge to Eel Pie Island, on the Thames. M240, 28mm Elmarit
  5. this is also from my series of Botanical Garden where one can get light in some corners after 6 p.m. Olympus OMD EM 5 with Elmarit R 90 mm
  6. Botanical garden is rich in details if you are able to grab the last sunbeam. You learn to be quick: grab your stuff after coming home, change clothes, drive 2 miles, set up your tripod, lens choice, manual focus, forgot cable release-doesn't matter-selftimer on and shoot shoot shoot. I think you all know that very well. Olympus OMD EM 5 with R Elmarit 90 mm
  7. taken in Pulau Ubin, an Island off Singapore during sunset. Leica M9, 21mm f/1.4 Summilux ASPH, Hi-Tech 1.2 ND, 0.6 GND Soft Filters 21mm, f/11, 60sec, ISO 160
  8. Last week I was on the beach past sunset... just past sunset. There had been storms during the day and a thick layer of clouds on the horizon. The sun had set yet left a strong afterglow above the cloud bank. I was struck by the pattern of light and the way it seemed to play off the sea. Small waves rippled like small moving islands through a very calm windless early evening sea. Many thanks for looking and your comments and critique are very welcome. Todd
  9. it was getting dark quickly but I took some time for this last shot of my trip to the big cemetery. MKII with Summicron 50 mm
  10. taken on a ferris wheel on top of a shopping centre in Osaka, Japan HEP FIVE/ヘップファイブー大阪・梅田・赤い観覧車のファッションビル handheld shot with Leica M9, 21mm f/1.4 Summilux ASPH
  11. A warm summer evening glowing over the local wheatfields is a romantic sight. The Canon 5D MKII mounted on a tripod I made 2 versions with one focussed on the sky the other one on the field. Both were merged in PSE by hand. Enfusage works also in the HDR function but the result is different. I hope, somebody will stay for a moment to enjoy. Thanks for looking. Elmarit R 35 mm
  12. I think one of the most difficult shots to get is the time after a sunset... the light is falling quickly, the colors are changing... and you need to have the image be dark but not a full on night image. We had a great sunset last night and I put the camera on a tripod... this image is a 16 sec exposure with the 28 2.8 elmerit M9. Many thanks for looking and for any comments.
  13. Nice sunset at Lincoln Park in Chicago. Hey...I offered them a copy of the photo, but they refused! Oh well... 50mm Summilux M-P (240)
  14. These days are wonderful: still summer temperatures. The days are a bit shorter now but the light we get here is lovely for the time being. So I started out for a big peat bog because there were promising clouds. But not so at that place. It was tranquille, warm, calm and frogs could be heard, geese on their evening strife. Altogether a lovely sunset atmopshere. I tried out my new Olympus Em 5 MKII with Summilux 15 mm and Nocticron 43 mm
  15. MP240 with Elmarit 90mm 2.8
  16. Sun went down quickly and it became chilly. But waiting for sunset was a "must" !! Olympus EM 5, Baker Beach
  17. We spent a couple of hours from afternoon until dusk at this glorious place of Baker Beach in San Francisco. Being quite busy with two systems I am glad to hav carried all that gear around. Olympus EM5 with Nocticron
  18. Sometimes when you're a middle-aged fogey, the magnified finder of the iiif does the trick. It's also small enough to be an every day portable carry...perfect for, when out of the blue, a bizarre sunset happens upon you, ( and 30+million other people in the city). Imperial Palace Tokyo. July 2015. Leica iiif 5cm Summarit screw. Fuji Natura 1600iso
  19. Folks gathered to watch the last sunset for the year 2020. Often families would come together for picnic day.
  20. From the front of my home this evening after a day of wind and rain. M10-R BP 50mm summicron safari edition
  21. Loch Lomond is a beautiful loch, and I love to stop there on my way from Glasgow to Glencoe & the Isle of Skye, when I have a chance. Here a sunset on the Loch, a 1/5 second photograph taken in 2018 with my (then) Leica SL, Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters: Thank you for viewing and commenting, best regards Vieri
  22. Caught a fantastic sunset while out on an evening walk after rain showers had subsided. T + VM 40/1.4
  23. After a day of rain/clouds, the sun finally peeked just before sunset. T + VM 15/4.5 III
