  4. Hello everyone, I just bought a used ebay M8.2 and it has the coffe stain LCD issue in the center of the screen as explained in the forum (more visible when on a pale wall etc). Rest is working very well and of course pictures are not affected. I am new to Leica and I need advice. Would you keep the Camera with that defect and with no warranty? .. and no service for those LCDs.... The price was for 2400€ ($3100) the camera and a 50mm Summicron type 4 from 1981 + charger, 2 batteries & usb cable. Do you think it is still a good deal with the LCD issue? I love the camera...so I need advice to make a reasonable decission! I have 6 days to return it... so any advice will help! Thank you

  6. Hi everyone, I'm new here and hope someone can help me. I bought a leica R 50mm summicron made in Canada 2780309. The glass is almost perfect like the body. Focus and aperture are also in good shape. The problem I got is related with a focus issue. I can focus right but the scale doesn't match. To focus far away (almost infinity) the focus scale is between 8 and 10 feet. Not match between be in focus to infinity and the scale reading. Is like the breath's focus is shorter. I'm shooting with m4/3 mount. How can that be? Best regards. Francisco

  9. Hi All! I'm hoping someone can clarify a question that I'm sure many of you will know the answer to--or direct me towards an already existing thread. I recently purchased a Summicron 50mm lens from KEH as well as a Summicron 35mm, neither of which came with the proper retaining ring. I was told at the Leica store to purchase Series VI 14160 rings, and have done so. The problem: I would like to use a 62mm filter on these lenses but cannot figure out which initial step up ring will fit into the lenses--39mm, 41mm or 44mm? There is a lot of conflicting information out there about series adapters and so forth, and since I won't have the retaining rings for a couple weeks I would like to be able to confidently purchase step up rings without having to wait and then measure the actual diameter. Thoughts? Many thank! Lou (The 50mm is from 1969, and the 35mm from 1970, I believe)
