1. Hello, I'm new to this forum and I'm seeking some experienced advice. I recently purchased a Leitz Summaron 35 f3.5 with goggles from eBay at a very reasonable price - for a reason - the rear element has considerable haze/fog that is noticeable on every image. I've been reading on the web that it is possible to clean the glass and even to DIY it: Removing Haze from Leitz 35mm F/3.5 Summaron Lens - DJCPHOTO.COM Now, I've tried going ahead with the instructions provided by the link above but I'm finding it impossible to remove the rear lens retaining ring. In addition, I have unscrewed the focusing helicoid and I think I have not been able to put it back together correctly. Apart from sending my lens to more competent hands, does anyone have other advice or guidelines for cleaning the lenses (and putting the focusing helicoid back correctly...) myself? Thanks for your time
2. Hallo erstmal.
4. A small, local gallery in the old chateau (now the Hotel de Ville) at St Alban sur Limagnole in the Lozere region of France. MP, Summaron 35mm, Acros100, Rodinal.
6. Thomas Edison's Ft. Myers, Florida chemical and biological laboratory where he tried to synthesize or find a natural source of rubber into the early 1900's. Leica IIIf, Summaron 35/3.5, Kodak Portra 160NC, 1/5 sec @ f/11, drugstore develop and scan to CD. This picture taken 13 April 2010. Nik Dfine to reduce noise/grain, Viveza to bring out from shadows blue bottle on the left, light Sharpener Pro, finally Topaz Adjust for another look and more latitude. This is still not the greatest vantage point--a jumble of vials and test tubes--but best I could do under the crowded, hurried circumstances, we are all behind a rope barrier. (Everybody around me stopped, held still and held their breath while I hunkered down and took the shot, I must've had that steely look in my eyes...think I should've gone to f/16 because this is zone focus...I've had good luck with slow shutter speeds and these focal-plane shutters so I'm not afraid to go down that low. My lowest acceptable shutter speed with ff dslr is 1/500.)
