I have an r5... but all this talk about cams is confusing.... all my lenses, except my 50 cron are 3 cam... I don't feel the need for an r8 or r9, does single cam,2 cam, or 3 cam or any other variation make any difference? current lenses: 24 elmarit,50 cron, 90 elmarit, 180 elmarit

I've got a Leica R7 from someone and I just noticed that sometimes when I take a photo it takes more than a second or even two!! Between the mirror up and the actual shutter release. First I thought it was random, bun then after some dry firing I noticed it happend ALWAYS when I aim the camera down at the floor for example, sometimes when I aim it straight in front horizontally.. and it has never happened yet when aiming it at the ceiling... First I thought it might be a computer lag because it has to calculate different light strengths so I tried it in manual with the lens cap on. And it was still the same: Always lagging 1-2 seconds when aiming down, sometimes lagging a bit 0-1 seconds when I aim in front and never when I aim it upwards 45º. So I'm thinking this is mechanical... Any one any thoughts had this before? Would a CLA fix this?! Thanks! EDIT: It seems to me that the rear curtain is sticking a bit or something and that that is the reason why it's not firing when tilted downwards.

Ho everyone, I have Leica M6 and I love it. I never owned 35mm SLR camera, only Polaroid SX-70 which is SLR.I shot few times with SLR. A week ago I asked one friend to give me bis Nikon FE2 with 200mm lens to test it. The truth is that I don’t like the hard button and the noisy shutter, but I like the way I frame.I mean I like that I see only what is going to be in the frame and nothing else. From the results I noticed that my photos gave better composition than with the M6. I know the vast majority like the viewfinder of Leica M and the possibility to see what is going to be inside the frame and many say that this is advantage, but I’m not sure wether for me this is valid. I use 50mm Summicron, because I don’t like too much wide lenses. As I said, I like my M6 too much, I don’t want to switch to SLR. Is there any tip/trick to ignore what is outside the frame? Am I the only one who prefer to see only what is going to be inside the frame?

Recently acquired a Canon 5D(mk 1) and Leica R adapter. Now need lens(es) to include something 300mm +/-. Budget - under $1000. Please - no suggestions of superb $4,000 APO lenses Looking for user experience that compares/contrasts any of the following possibilities: 1. 180 f/2.8 (Series filter version) + 2x R converter (non APO) 2. 180 f/2.8 (E67 filter version) + 2X R converter 3. 180 f/3.4 APO + 2x converter 4. 250mm f/4 (either version) alone 5. 250mm f/4 (either version) + 2x converter 6. 400 f/6.8 alone 7. 180 f/2.8 (either version) + 400 f/6.8 (I see enough 400 Telyts out there for the price of a 2x converter that I'd consider this option, too. Usually missing the grip and shoulder brace - but I don't need those anyway) For reference - I have in the past on film used the 180(E67), both 250s, and the 400 f/6.8. So I have a rough idea how those perform alone (not with 2x converter). I also know the Lens Compendium reviews, but they also do not mention 2x converter effects.
