Has anybody had intermittent TTL flash issues with the R8? I get random firing of the SF-58, particularly with movement of the camera, and sometimes no flash on shutter release. Inside, low light, and with program mode the viewfinder shows f/5.6 @ 1/250 as it should. Contacts are clean, wiggling the flash at the foot doesn't make it fire. Camera, flash or the coupling of the two? The phenomena does not seem to occur with a SF-24D, though i have no negatives to review yet. R8 serial # 243xxxx. I've had no other problems with this camera.

Just got SF-58. I put it into M240 hotshoes to shooting. I tried 1), TTL , 2) TTL-HSS 3), A (auto?) Question: 1,Which mode is better for me to usually use?Any improve Tips? 2,When I used it for human figures photography, they said the flash is burning their eyes. What should I do to avoid that? Setting? 3,What's the top hidden white board plastic function? 4,Why the 'A' mode is too dark? Thanks for every reply

I am scratching my head for nearly two houres now, here is the problem: I am using the SF-58 on M9. TTL works fine, but there is a problem with Auto Mode and bounce flash. In Auto Mode I am supposed to set the aperture manually on lens and flash (ISO info from camera). Here is what happens: Set aperture to f2.8 on lens and flash > exposure fine. Set aperture to f8 on lens and flash > exposure 3 stops underexposed (as if flash is still set to f2.8) I put the flash head to rest position, then back to bounce position > exposure is fine! Same thing the other way around, then with overexposure issue. Is this normal? I don't understand this behavior. I tried several times, always with the same result. Is the flash supposed to be in rest position to change its output via its aperture setting? Thank you very much!

Hallo zusammen, mich beschäftigt die Frage, ob es ein Blitzkabel für die M9 und den SF-58 einen Blitz gibt, der auch die TTL-Funktion unterstützt ? Vielleicht hat ja auch jemand Erfahrung und kann mir hier weiterhelfen ?!?! Vielen Dank im Voraus und viele Grüße aus dem Norden, Andy

So I have this set up but only 2 coded lens so far. my lens is 18mm f/3.8 ASPH (Leica coded) and 35mm 1.4 ASPH (code with Sharpie but recognized by the camera; as far as I can tell, when I push the info button, the diagram showed up). my problem On the camera I set Lens detection ON + UV/IR, 1st curtain, lend dependent auto slow sync; on the SF-58, TTL, pointing forward, F4 (manually set). in all modes (TTL, A, M) I cannot change the MZoom 18 to AZoom. According to the manual, I should be able to do that by pushing the Set button till MZoom or AZoom show up and then change it.... How come I cannot do that? next general question: is there a sync cord that I can use to get this flash away from the body? I am sure this is answered many times but I have trouble finding it as a new coming. thanks for your help.
