Anybody else running into issues using the Really Right Stuff Base plate ( BM10 B ) specifically on the M10 Monochrom? I'm attaching a photo (left: factory fit) showing the issue (only occurring on the side with the circular tab/retainer) where the base plate is pushing on the leatherette to the point where it's bubbling the material. I could certainly file the base plate down, but that's not ideal. According to RRS, they've heard vague rumors of concerns with the M10M. Also, I'm seeing that the rubber pad on the opposite side of the "problem spot" is slightly misaligned. Exchanging is complicated by the fact that the item appears to be on backorder and RRS indicated they are not going to do another production run (i.e. it's a discontinued item). I may consider a universal L-bracket, but these base plates are pretty sweet. Incidentally, the L-bracket and grip from my M240 RRS variant appear to line up perfectly with the M10 model. I've had great luck with RRS products in the past, but maybe I got a lemon. I imagine the tolerances are likely an issue on the Leica cutting/placement of the leatherette side of things, but that's going to get tricky to sort out. Thanks for your feedback! (Sorry for duplicating, I started this on the M10 side and wasn't clear on how to migrate to the monochrom world)

Am especially interested in how well the RRS grip works on an M10. I just did a test shoot of an M10, and most definitely like this camera; however, it was a bit awkward holding the camera when switching back and forth from landscape to portrait, so I thought Really RIght Stuff (RRS) might help. I use L-brackets on two Canon 1-series bodies, and the L-bracket on the left side of the body is easy to grip whether shooting landscape or portrait. Also, RRS has a hand grip that mounts on the right side of the body of the M10, and would love to hear from someone who has the hand grip to see how well it works.

Hi everybody, I plan to do tabletop down to 1:1 macro product shots in portrait orientation. Lens will be the 24-90 with an +5 and +3 achromat. My current 3-way head by Manfrotto does not work very well for that, so I was thinking about an the RRS L-Plate (seems the most elegant solution on the market). My idea was to combine it with the Arca Swiss P0 Head (versatile, would be kind of universally usable) and maybe later with an Arca Swiss Cube. Another option could be the Acratech ballhead. Now my question is: Does the L-plate fit the heads properly? Do I miss sth? thanks and best -e-

I am in the market for a Really Right Stuff tripod and head for my Q. I would be willing to dedicate the tripod to only the Q and not "planning for the future" where I might want to use it with a significantly heavier bigger setup. (Hopefully though, I could also use it when there is a slightly bigger Leica Q2? with longer or interchangeable lenses!) I would like something as compact and light as possible for use traveling and hiking. With all the options available, what are you all using of theirs and what would you recommend? I am 5 foot 7, BTW. I own the Leica large tabletop ball head 14110 and table top tripod, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=29953&gclid=CjwKEAjw3fG4BRDsn9GAv7T2zEkSJACNJdjgWof-vT6I_bcvDK4JG1ry_PGgowYq7oUhn0VRrTTj1BoCCpHw_wcB&is=REG&ap=y&c3api=1876%2C52934714882%2C&Q=&A=details Would this Leica ball head be ok with one of their tripods or should I step up to an RRS ball head? What accessories would you recommend? Last time I looked into it, they hadn't made a plate dedicated to the Q - so how would the quick release problem be solved, if I do go the RRS ball head route? Thanks!
