here are the thoughts of two photographers on 28mm vs. 35mm for documentary photography. There is nothing "wrong" with the 35mm; for some reason, the 28mm focal length produces images that are more three dimensional looking to my eye. For that reason, I am drawn to the 28mm focal length. I think of my 28mm Elmarit as my documentary lens and my 35mm Summicron as my all-arounder. https://emulsive.org/articles/sharing-my-contact-sheets-india-snapshots-all-xa-all-colour?utm_source=EMULSIVE+Daily+and+Weekly+Newsletters&utm_campaign=e7c973b9ea-RSS_DAILY_EMAIL_CAMPAIGN&utm

A small series I did on the Austrian tradition of "Almabtrieb". This is just a selection of pictures from the full series here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/derphilipppp/albums/72157659340180141 Leica M6 - 35mm Summicron IV - Kodak Portra 160 In case you don't know what an "Almabtrieb" is: The "Almabtrieb", which translates from German as: "drive from the mountain pasture", is an annual event in the alpine regions in Europe, referring to a cow train in autumn. During summer, all over the alpine regions cow herds feed on alpine pastures ("Almen" or "Alpen") high up in the mounta

Inspired eye by Robert Michael Poole, on Flickr Well, today was a proud day. The first time my photos have been published! Over the summer I took some pictures of the St Gerassimos day parade in Kephalonia, Greece and they have been picked up for publishing on the Inspired Eye street photography blog and magazine. If you haven't read the magazine it is online only and a fantastic read (you can pick up a free copy on their site). The pictures were all taken with my Leica m9 and 50mm Summarit which I picked up before summer and this was my first proper outing with it. Needless to say I w

- the M - after working professionally for a few years I have shot nearly every camera system available. It took me many attempts to finally settle on the Leica for good. It is simply the most magic tool out there. It´s not the quality, it´s the joy and simplicity of use that sets her apart. She is no easy, just give yourself time to really get to know her... to discover her soul. I don't want to sound too pathetic, but I strongly believe this tool helped me to become the photographer I am (for the good and the bad). all Leica M240 and either 35 FLE or 35

Hi dear colleagues, some time ago I asked what analog camera you would recommend for pro-use. I got a lot of helpful tips here and finally got a beautiful M7. Now I have shot my first full day wedding coverage with it. Tools: Leica M7 (MP viewfinder) with 35 Summicron IV and Artisan 50/1.1. Ilford HP5 pushed to 1600. (colorimages on Canon AE with 50/1.4 - so just ignore them) The film was developed in my guest-bathroom (na, now more a little foto-lab) Over the time of 13 hours I shot 14 rolls of films with the Leica and delivered 400 images. I am in love with th

Was sagt ihr? Mit freundlichsten Grüßen Rafael
