  1. Since three weeks I travel around with the Leica Q3 and I love it a lot….. But I do have a question, maybe someone can explain or knows a solution? When I convert my jpg (largest size) to a B&W profile within Lightroom, I see strange lines/blocks in the sky. In this example you can see it on the right upper corner (lines in the white clouds) On another photo I can see little blocks.. On this site I have to upload a smaller size jpg, but I can see it in the large converted version too. I do my editing on my Ipad, so when, after my travels, I am at home, I ‘ll have a look on my computer too. Could it have to do with the screen capability of my Ipad? Or is there another reason? Hope to hear from your experiences! Thanks!
  2. I have done this mistake several times now and I am sure you have as well (except the perfect people out there). Therefore I would like to know how you are using the feature of lens profiles and what you do when you do wrong. First, my gear: Leica M9, Summicron 50mm f/2, Elmarit 21mm F2.8, Lightroom 4. Very often when I make a change between my lenses, especially from my Summicron to Elmarit I forget to change my "Lens detection". When I do this mistake my Elmarit gets identified as a 90mm lens in Lightroom. Can I change this back to the right lens? Does it matter except for the vignetting and flash? (Vignetting I am anyway normally setting myself in LR or PS). What is normally your setting when you have a lot of non-6-bit coded lenses and you change between them. I assume you often forget to adjust this. Now I have bought another lens (90mm Elmarit non-6-coded) and will for sure make this mistake even more.
  3. Hey folks - I'm new here - and new to Rangefinder photography in general. But I took the big plunge on an M9 and a 35mm Summicron. I am absolutely loving this combination. What a thrill! And I'm improving my focusing skills every day. It perfectly suits my style of photography, and although I am not planning on selling my Canon system, I don't expect to be taking it out again any time soon. By way of introduction, I'm a television news producer - not a pro photographer (although I am dating one) - but I've been an avid photographer for 25 years. As I see it, the Leica is a natural evolution in my own style of photography. I started off shooting landscapes and abstract/nature years ago - and these days focus almost entirely on what some label "street photography." (i'm not a fan of the term). Anyway, I would be curious to know what presets any of you might have programmed into your M9s. I realize these are very personal things and would differ greatly among everyone, but on the Leica I find them much easier to use than on my Canon. A very quick way to change several settings at once. So if you care to share any details on how you've set up your presets I'd love to hear them. In the meantime, best to everyone. I look forward to being around here for a while. Chris
  4. Hi all, Can anyone please point to information about what is corrected in the M9 profiles for various lenses for the 1.162 firmware? I assume that there are no changes in profiles to the new 1.174. I am particular interested in photos comparing with/without profile. I intend to do my own comparison for 50/2, 28/2,8, 90/4, but no sense if this is already done. My understanding is that the profiles correct the color cast by wides, color balance as well as vignetting (falloff), but does NOT correct distortion? I see a lot of claims that the profile corrects various lenses, and although opinions are appreciated I would like to have more facts. So please, no offense intended towards those claiming that profiles are correcting lens/sensor problems .
  5. Has anyone published a lens profile for Adobe LightRoom and/or Photoshop CS5?
  6. when i check 'enable profile corrections' under 'lens corrections' in the 'develop' pane, i don't see any option for leica lenses. are they not supported? thanks.
  7. I'm using a recently purchased ColorMunkiPhoto to create custom printer (Epson R2400) and paper profiles. Unfortunately, I don't know how to access/display the Printer Dialog Box (to turn off printer color management, adjust resolution and paper types, etc.) before printing and scanning the Test Charts. So far, neither Epson nor X-rite technical support have been able to provide useful guidance. Can anyone help? Thanks.
  8. Only Monochrome profile available in ACR (13.1) - any info on when Camera Matching profiles will be added?
  9. Hi all, I am experimenting with custom colour profiles for T/TL, I am using Capture One as my raw editor, I liked the default profile for people and indoor shots, but I like more saturated look on landscapes and old town. I created the ICC profile for the Leica T, please give it a try and let me know your thoughts. LeicaT-Color Corrected.icm from Dropbox Thank you
