And now for something completely different. We all exchange our views here, but we do not hear each other speaking. Now you can hear what I sound like. After the huge amount of interest in my 'Swiss Photos' article, this website in California, which specialises in collections of all kinds, asked me to record a podcast on my camera collecting activities. This was recorded in the form of an interview and the host in California then edited it down to what is heard here. I was asked to avoid too much technical detail, but there is a lot here about Leica and some of my other collecting interests. My name is Victor Cajiao and I've been a podcaster for over five years. "Thomas Hoepker lebt seit 1976 in New York. Der 1936 in Berlin geborene Fotograf wird vor allem wegen eines ausgezeichneten Bildes in die Geschichte eingehen - er nahm junge lachende Menschen am Hudson River in New York am 11. September 2001 auf, als auf der anderen Flussseite die Türme von Manhattan brannten. Ein Foto, das um die Welt ging und Hoepkers Zugehörigkeit zur international renommierten Fotoagentur Magnum noch einmal eindrucksvoll unter Beweis stellte. Er ist der erste Deutsche, der bei Magnum Vollmitglied wurde. Thomas Hoepker hat in den 1970ern mehrere Jahre für den "Stern" aus der DDR berichtet und war als erster West-Fotograf überhaupt akkreditiert worden. Die Reportagen zusammen mit seiner verstorbenen Frau Eva Windmöller zählen zu den journalistischen Höhepunkten, den DDR-Alltag realistisch für die West-Bevölkerung abzubilden."
