Life is pretty quiet photographically for me at the moment, mostly due to really bad weather with heavy rain which makes street photography almost impossible. This means I am continuing my journey through my archives, and this I had forgotten. It shows a typical English pastime - playing bowls. The white clothes are the standard dress for everyone, and afternoon tea is almost compulsory. English tradition at its best. Leica M3 + 50mm Summicron f2. Ilford 400 Delta. 1997.

Apologize to post this late, I was member since 2012 and till recently found my password and login 😅 I wanted to share one of my photograph that won 2nd place the National geographic Travel of he Year 2017 in people category. I shot using Leica ME with 50mm Lux, at Rijks Museum in Amsterdam way back in 2015. I shot twice and the first one obviousely out of focus due to the manual setting, etc.. but the second shot was perfect. I love the visitors expression and lighting that really help this image stand out. I named this shot "Interesting Moment" 😃 Love my ME and the 50mm Lux combination, I never change lens since.

I was just leaving the waterside park area when I spotted this guy. I was already driving so I drove back around the park and parked up so that I could catch him. It had just been pouring with rain so I think he stopped under the tree to take shelter, but he then sat on the wet grass. Leica M240 + 35mm Summarit f2.5. Shot as .dng and converted to black and white in Lightroom Classic. Hope you like it Gerry

This image forms part of my further adventures into colour street photography after shooting black and white for 60+ years. It is a learning curve involving a different way of seeing, but one which I am enjoying (even if I do not get it right!) Gerry

While I was having coffee at my favourite place this guy was sat running his office over his cup of coffee. "Hi, it's Mike the Magician" he said down the telephone. Sadly the guy at the other end didn't seem to know who he was. I took this candid shot of him with the M240 + 50mm lens at 1600iso. I then processed it through Lightroom Classic. Hope you like it! It was the annual Gay pride event in my home town of Southampton, and there was the usual plethora of street vendors including the balloon sellers. This guy only sold unicorn belloons, and made an interesting subject. This is a very colourful event and it would have been easy to be overwhelmed by the colour, but I made the decision to shoot it b&w: Leica M240 + 50mm Summicron-M f2 Gerry

I have just acquired a 50mm Summicron-M f2 IV so I took it for a test run (which consisted of one shot) today. This was at 1250 iso 1/125 and f6.8 - Gerry

This was taken in the downtown area of Southampton where I had been photographing in the small street market. I was about to get back into the car when I turned and saw this scene. The image really is a quick 'grab' shot without reseting anything. It is from June 2019, don't be fooled by the 2015 on the caption which is the film number. Leica M7 and Tri-X film commercially processed.

I took my regular visit to my favourite city-centre coffee shop and when he served me the guy behind the counter said "Have you taken any good snaps yet today?". I hadn't, but whilst I sat there with my coffee and Danish this scenario appeared in front of me. It is a candid image, and they did not notice me at any time. I used my M240 fitted with the 50mm Zeiss Sonnar f1.5 and I was working at 1,000iso. Exposure was 1/60th @ f6.8. post-processing was in Lightroom Classic. Hope you like it! Gerry
