After a long time I decided to buy an M lens again - it became a Summilux 1.4 Asph FLE. Before I buy another M camera to go with it, I attached the lens to my Panasonic S1 with a simple TTArtisan adapter and took it for a walk through my garden - unfortunately there was no more time. At least the sun was shining. What I then found on the hard disk in the evening really thrilled me, despite the test picture character of the shots. Colours, contrast, bokeh, depth - everything is wonderful. In addition, the small lens is very easy to operate with the big Panasonic, focusing is fun. I will decide in the next few days whether I want to have another M at all. Actually, I didn't want to return to the Leica cosmos, but the lenses, the feel, the pictures... it won't let you go.

I would like to buy Panasonic S1r mainly because of IBIS efficiency, I shoot mainly landscapes and my Nikon Z6's IBIS is not bad but I expect Panasonic would be much better. Is there anybody Who can compare Nikon and Panasonic? What are limits for Panasonic with L lenses? Based on IBIS specification I would expect possibility to shot 1 second exposure with 50mm focal length, is it possible? I guess electronic front curtain and shutter delay mode shoul hele.

My choices for shutter type and silent mode are greyed out on the S1 and I am not sure why. i am presently in electronic shutter and get a message that the menu item can’t be changed when I try to change it . Same for silent mode - that is also greyed out Have downloaded and searched the manual, changed modes ( mostly use manual ). Removed the battery, not sure what else to try posted this also in dpreview forum

Curious to know if Panasonic has improved the quality of the view finder over the Leica SL. More specifically, what bothers me about the SL finder is: 1. When under exposing the image by more than a stop the blacks become very milky and you can't see much detail in the shadows (Often required to prevent highlight clipping) 2. It’s not very bright causing difficulties in bright conditions 3. Difficult to judge focus unless magnifying the image (I have 20/20 vision)

Given the complexity of the S1/S1R - at least in Leica-land - could those with some experience shortly present their favorite settings, and possibly enlight us about tips, etc.? I am thinking about 'all' aspects - like focus settings for different shooting situations, programming of buttons/short-cuts, focus stacking, using of manual lenses, ibis when and not, LENR or not, etc. etc. etc... Detailed discussions take place on separate threads, as now, but summaries could go here as a quick guide for less experiencend users.
