  1. My first post here, hope you like it
  2. At the Pacific Ocean coast in Washington state these birds were flying very low to the surf. I only caught three frames of them before they were gone into the space that seems to go on forever at the ocean. Shot with Leica MP and Elmarit-M 28mm 1/250 @ f/11 on Kodak B&W CN, and scanned with Nikon Coolscan 5000ED. Here's another one taken earlier in the day when it was raining. Shot with Leica MP and Summicron-M 50mm 1/125 @ f/11 on Kodak B&W CN, and scanned with Nikon Coolscan 5000ED. Cheers, Mike
  3. Hello, I took a trip on a sailing ship half around Europe, from the Netherlands to Portugal. Here I like to show a few pictures from it. I decided to take my good old M 240 with me and wondered that she survived. She got sprayed with salt water, was dangling against the made of steel bowsprit or other things, stays wet most of the time and slipped together with me about 4 meters along the floor of the deckhouse in a storm to be stopped from some tables and banks. Close to a total loss in some situations, but stills she works. Wow! Day is dawning on the Atlantic Furling the sails Around sunddown To be continued. Best regards Frank

  5. From the album: Leica Q B&W By Jonathan Todd

Lost tree to the ocean forces caught as it was headed out to sea. How many years did it take to grow the eye of the needle in bark? How did it happen?

  6. An early Fly Fisherman having a go against the surf
  7. You can spend hours on a beach of that Westcoast California. It is full of surprises and strange life. Lots of seashells on the rocks, seaweeds etc. They all hope for a major tide and wave come in to provide them with a watershower. Starfish, cormorans, pelicans, seal, otter, all come into the inviting coves and small bays. X1

  9. This beach belonged to a lighthouse where we stayed overnight. So it was a priviledged private place. I took my breakfast there on that lovely morning. I left my heavy bulk in the room and had only my X1. I am still very happy with the results of this little camera. panorama being stitched from 4 vertical pictures
  10. We stayed one day and a night at the Montara Lighthouse. We were fascinated by the enticing atmosphere and spent much time on the private beach. We had always to decide either to pack our stuff safely in the backpack or risking a bottom glide (one hand to hold the tripod with the mounted camera and the other hand for providing a soft touchdown...guess, what we did - nothing happened, no broken limbs or lenses. most of the time I used my Zeiss wideangle lens 18 mm which unfortunately cannot e shown here, but I can post a few studies with the Elmarit R 28 mm + filters
  11. We are back from our California trip to the West Coast. We started in San Francisco and went by car along the famous Pacific Highway No 1 where our first location was a stopover in Half Moon Bay. There we began to scan what will be waiting for us and prepared ourselves for landscapes, seascapes, vegetation, rocks, cliffs, seal, birds and: the rhythm of the mist. This phenomenon is dominating all the vegeation and life there, including our own feelings and surprises when it lifted and sank in again, veiled sunshine, unveiled it and so on.
